How's thievery treated here?
Ssaliss2010-09-11 01:53:13
It is virtually non-existant. From what I hear, thieves are basically shunned completely by everyone (although I've yet to actually come across a thief).

Extremely frowned upon, if your caught most everyone in the playerbase will apparantly shun you forever more. I don't believe there are any rules forbidding it. The admins, however, do try and make it as hard for you to do as possible. It's now impossible to rob shops of random strangers (They have to give you the ability to pick things up which kinda narrows it down on who could've taken stuff), and there's a few abilities that make it so unless you catch someone mindless it's fairly impossible to make someone give you stuff if they're prepared.

Keep in mind that most of what that leaves for you to steal is weapons and clothing lost in fights, and in the case of weapons they can take an extremely long time to make and are very expensive, the few times I've gotten that opertunity my conscience has gotten the better of me (damn that conscience).

You might get lucky and pick up a pack loaded with gold but it'll be a rare thing and, really, if it's enough to worry about wondering if thievery is tolerated it should be enough that your conscience gets the better of you tongue.gif

Edit for Ssaliss: There are a few cases of thievery, ages back Somaria took some credits from her guild, or something (She was extremely apologetic, we forgave her I think), plus there's been theft of cubes being enchanted recentlyish.

Yrael pulled it off by being a Jigan-esque supervillain parody, but I think everyone else who tried it out became a pariah pretty sharpish. Plus you open yourself up to griefy retaliation; and if you cry foul you'll get no pity, just "you brought this on yourself".

Why is Hallifax so sciency? Get some artsy in there too! You're supposed to be full of trill!
Lawliet2010-09-11 02:11:38
We have shulamit, there's enough art there for the entire basin tongue.gif

The same reason Gaudiguch is mostly party mentality. tongue.gif People take one idea, and they run with it.

I try! I try try try. But none of our guilds were made with artists in mind. I encourage artistry in the Aeromancers, but we were still built upon a foundation of science and philosophy, instead of arts. :\\

Because no one likes to be artsy fartsy.

How many emotes can a guild have.....
Lendren2010-09-11 02:59:05
I'm sure when Hallifax gets its bards that will help balance things out.

Instead of changing it to make it easier on me, I decided to just let it be the guild who welcomes people from arts and science equally. I think that works out better for everyone! Even if I'm really bad at answering the questions of the more extremely science-oriented guild members... >_>

I'm currently reading his new book. He'd make an excellent high noble Hallifaxian or Magnagoran. All this adherence to pleasantries, manners, and niceties. His ideas on how a leader should act are also interesting and wonderful. It'd be great to make a character and base it off of everything in a self-help book and see how far it gets you.

Tim Gunn always seems so nice and friendly whenever I watched Project Runway.

Wait, I'm supposed to be art enough for a whole city? O_o I'm either very touched, or very scared. Or both. I think I'll be both.

Though, on a plus side, it means I am closer to world domination through cartel trademastering. I'm not sure what the end goal was though, anymore...bah.
