If influence is your main thing, is CharismaticAura worth the lessons? I remember some time ago it was pretty much a joke, but did that change?

It's basically a 33% influence boost, so I'd say it's worth it if you have the lessons to get it.

If I remember correctly, CharismaticAura used to just make you immune to disloyalty, so maybe that was it.

Storytelling is the joke. Attitudes kinda help with debating.
CA used to be a 100% disloyalty block, but that was nerfed down to some percentage and got an influence buff, which is pretty nice.

Hrm, I'm pretty sure that Okin's referring to the performances that boost a particular influence type: sycophant, vagabond, etc.
As for those, I cannot recall if they helped or not. Regardless, higher Dramatics give a higher ego regeneration when performing, so it still does help with influencing.

Depends on your charisma. Performances add about as much as does a rune or beast or perfume (and stack with all of those), but whether that'll reduce your influence hits from 7 to 6, or from 18 to 13, depends on how thoroughly you already outclass whatever you're influencing. They're definitely useful.

Waltz and tango both have non-English etymologies. I don't see why pasodoble would be any more inappropriate, if that particular dance is a critical part of the story.
