What happened to that tradition where newly-opened areas aren't watched by Avenger?

I mean, Avenger avoidance is everywhere today. :|
Shiri2010-07-19 05:36:46
Specifically one-way Avenger avoidance.

So, what does Urlach's Throne do, how is it activated? and the same questions go for the Paladin counterpart.

1: I don't believe so, though there are skills you learn which make you better.

2. There's a pattern, it's somewhat predictable though there are minor variables like org government types.

1. The only thing that makes influences more successful are higher CHA, performing the right type, a beast, prestige, demesne, Emmisary (for amnesty), oils, runes, and higher attacks/CharismaticAura.

2. Every six/seven real life days, plus or minus a few hours randomly. Village revolts haven't happened based on ruling type since the Mad Virivain event, when they started revolting in sets and therefore there was no single org controlling the revolt timer.

As far as I'm aware, the Celest version also uses the Throne, and seeks to harness it for the Light. I wasn't around for much of it, though.

People made BOND SEEK out to be way more useful than it is given the WP cost. Did it used to be able to get into sealed areas? (like the lava wall in Zoaka)? Because it sure doesn't now.

It allows you to nigh-instantly locate and move to hidden, moving mobs that are otherwise very difficult or time consuming to track down, generally involved in quests. This includes things like manifestations of the dreaming, mobs in the Seas (where you're thrown around by waves normally, making tracking them down manually a pain), etc. You can also use it to get past some barriers in combat situations, such as GreaterPentagram (if they don't kill the dog fast enough).
Kante2010-07-19 12:36:42
If you have a tracking companion from another Org, and you take up Tracking in your new org, can you still use the old tracking companion?

(P.S. Admin, my bone-armoured viper is still permanently set to listen to whatever is being said in the room it's in.)

Is GoodLuck in Paradigmatics a noticeable increase in crits?

If it's the same as a level one crit rune like I think I heard, yes. Crit chance increases also increase your likelihood of getting better crits, not just getting crits in general, which is nice.

I'm pretty sure you can use your old tracking companion until it dies, then you need to get one from the new org. Just remember to get it before org hopping.

Edit: Bond unite is amazing once you're high enough willpower to do it repeatedly. It made Serenwilde's epic quest EZ mode for finding pixies and the shamrock.

This. Bond unite is probably the single best questing skill in the game.

Not sure what Paladin counterpart you're talking about, but if you tune the Throne for the Light it acts as a multi-charge Tosha Blessing for whatever non-Undead person sits in it. Undead people who sit in it just die.

Unsure if it's vice-versa for the Undead, nor do I know how it impacts Those Affected By Dark Spirits.

The light fled from the throne when I touched it, and after seeing Esano get fried For Science I decided against further experimentation. I would assume that Glom doesn't benefit from it being Light, however.

Assumptions is the Enemy of Science!

Should I join the family I kinda-sorta-wanted to be a part of when I started playing, or create my own and use the pages upon pages of family history written to make my own way?

Still wondering why men can't curtsey and why women can't bow!
Ixion2010-07-19 22:56:25
Genderbend or bubble up. I'd rather not have to ever see a man curtsey IG. Thanks for your cooperation. (What's wrong with making a curtsey alias to emote it? Win)

It just seems like a silly thing to force. I am a woman who wants to bow without having to jump through hoops for it, dangit!

Might as well ask why a male can wear a skirt. Fact is that code says they can, so it only makes sense they can do the gesture that goes so well with a skirt. Generally speaking, the right of a person to be who they are trumps your right not to see them doing it. Frankly, I bet the bow/curtsey thing is the way it is because Estarra hasn't gotten around to doing anything about the legacy Achaea code. (But given what Estarra's said about things like self-determination of gender identity, I think if the question came to her attention, she'd say, sure, take that code out.)

How is the auction escrow calculated? I'd normally just file a bug report but... Well I already did and they said they fixed it, and my escrow did go down by 800 or so, but here's my problem:

List of artifacts:
45525 a set of clockwork goggles being held by Lawliet
60851 Sacrosanct Prayer Beads of the Exal being held by Lawliet
120513 a mechanical pogo stick being held by Lawliet
199720 a Lesser Rune of Demesnes inside of "necklace28948"<----- The only thing that can be traded in for credits, worth 66 on trading.

But auction escrow build gives: All of your artifacts give you the ability to have 200 credits in escrow.

Now goggles are worth 50 dingbats, beads 16, pogo 66, so were you to add up credits and sticky dingbats you'd get 198, which is close enough to show they're probably involved but far away enough to make me question if it's bugged still.

Filing another report to see what's up, but what does everyone know/think? I've never paid attention to auctions before, really.
