For prestige purposes, do plays have to be watched and rated at the Vesteran stage, or can you do it at your home stage and have the rating and viewing still count?
Doesn't matter where they're watched, or by whom. Ratings don't matter either.

Well jeez, how does it work then?

Activity for a production depends on how many people spent how much time making it, watching it when it was performed, and watching replays. You can see all these things listed in the production's status. Replays count less than the other things (because you can have so many more of them). Doesn't matter at which stage replays happen, they count the same anywhere.
Activity for the entire stage depends on the activity for all the productions on it that have been active during the biennium in question. The production that was submitted counts the most, other productions recorded in that biennium count the next most, and everything else counts a bit less.
Thus, your score depends not merely on how many times the play gets watched, but also how many people put how much time into making it, into watching its premiere, and into attending its replays, and the same for all your other productions. There's no shortcut; you just have to encourage people to make plays (and, like books, bigger plays with more people actively participating count more) and watch them.
Ratings don't matter because they were gamed into meaninglessness. They're merely there for people to use to decide what to watch if they feel like watching something, but they're of limited use for that.

Since it wasn't answered... Drawdown gives +10 to each weapon stat, for one-handed weapons. I assume it's roughly doubled for two-handed weapons.
Daraius2010-10-15 14:23:47
That's a tremendous help. Thanks Lendren.

It should be 20/22/10, if I recall correctly.

If you submitted a design and put in some strange comments and it gets accepted, is it possible to clear the comments afterward?

You might message the charites about it and cross your fingers, but there isn't much precedence for this.

Does this affect traveling to a demesne center outside the meld and/or traveling to someone in your meld?
Added Question: Is there any available information on the Fifth Elemental Lords, and any back story on them?

Er..
What's a meld?
What's a demense?
What's the difference?
Does a scroll of protection protect from both?

They're the same thing.

First, there's the terrain overlays you've seen everywhere: wyrd, taint, clouds, burning, ethereal forest, and flood. A mage/druid needs the right terrain before they can meld (verb, not a noun, though many seem to think so). One by one, they meld each adjacent room, adding to their demesne (not demense, as many misspell it).
Scroll of protection stops up to three effects from any demesne, and they are predetermined, not random. A magical shield stops the rest of the effects, of course.

By magical shield you mean like pentagrams and circles? I still don't *really* get it then. If you walk into their demesne, wouldn't that set off the effects immediately? I just have no clue how it works or what its purpose is.
Unknown2010-10-15 17:26:40
Iirc demesne effects have a timer. So you could walk into the demesne and not be hit by an effect immediately.
Unknown2010-10-15 17:39:19
The effects are on a timer, and they hit all enemies of the demesne holder within adjacent rooms. It used to hit all enemies in the whole demesne, but now it's only those with/near the mage/druid.
Unknown2010-10-15 17:59:42
So if you walk into a demesne and get hit immediately, it was just really, really bad luck?

Is there an ergonomic way to set up Astrology aliases for Sign Rays/Spheres?
Since there's 12 signs total, it's hard to juggle, and I don't want to have to remember two aliases for each - 'vray' for volcano ray or 'vosp' for volcano sphere.
But I can't think of anything better. :/

Does anyone know when the lotteries end?
