I don't think keeping defences after forgetting a skill was ever considered a bug. It only becomes an issue now with the option of free skillflexing. Especially totem users would probably love getting the defences of their org's other totem spec.

Would this argument also extend to carrying the benefits from the trans tradeskill ability? I mean, you could go artisan to get the throne, skill flex jeweler for that scrying jewel, skill flex tailor for splendors, skill flex poisoner for poison immunity, etc.
Sure, you could deaden passive skill defenses, but what about splendors, thrones, etc?

I would say no, since they all could be done before (just at significantly higher cost), and this was addressed before skillflexing was implemented.
And you can -never- keep poisons immunity if you switch. It vanishes the next time a poison hits you if you lack the poisons skillset.

Having all the Stag and Moon defenses was sweet. For a non-Serenguard though, it involves quitting your guild and convincing the new one to get you out of novicehood before you qq. At best it's a couple hours of fun.

Yea, it's an option for knights, only. And one that will be removed, I hope.

Go for it, I've already had my fun. The only thing better would be to somehow manage to collect every defense from all the guilds in Serenwilde for one day, but damned if I have that kind of cash or influence with the other guild leaders.
Krellan2010-07-17 14:56:27
If you're going to change it so that people can't have defences that fade on death/logout in the first place, I think that should be answered as that willl significantly affect the value of the cord.

Okay next round summarized (sorry if I missed any)!
Does the personal manse stable still cost you gold for beast upkeep?
Do the attunement planimeters, alcohol charms, and squad artifacts stack if you get more than one? How much of a bonus do you get for the alcohol charms?
Can the Temporal Freezer be moved at will? or is it stuck on one place?
Does the thorn cloak work on each separate attack? For example, does a monk form count as 3 attacks, or 1? One handed warrior each swing counts as a chance for the bleed too, correct? Psionic attacks on each balance (sub/super/id) each count? Can the cloak be proofed because it takes up the cloak spot to wear?
Does the cloak work on mobs? (Pretty sure no mobs don't bleed ever but ok)
Does the charm just reduce how drunk they get or does it reduce the command fail rate so like an extra perform sober effect?

I can't imagine it wouldn't. Taking care of animals costs money you know. Maybe she'll let it slide with being cheaper, but I highly doubt free.

Not my question.. just making it easier for Estarra to sift through.

Has it ever been answered if it hits on every attack, or just monks and knights?

imo, it should only be monks and knights. If I staffcast/cudgel you, it's not like I have physical contact with you.
Ixion2010-07-17 16:11:07
Sure sounds good, add another malus to being warrior. Everything and its brother protects physical damage now anyway, what's another thing I guess..

It sounds that way, it makes sense to be that way, but it shouldn't be that way. I didn't see it on Ixion's list, so I thought I'd ask if it had been answered since that seemed to be debated earlier in the thread.
Ixion2010-07-17 16:24:43
I asked about psionics, I'd bet it's either all or nothing for non warrior/monks.

I'd have a hard time seeing psionics triggering the cloak, since they don't use physical attacks (I'd assume). Druids with cudgels... is it a physical or a magical attack?

Magical source, but cutting/blunt damage. So... I don't know?

At the least, I think it should be same cost as keeping it in the stables of your own org. Don't forget, if you keep beasts in other stables, like the Kiakoda reserve, you have to pay double. If you have to pay more to use your own stables, that'd be silly.

The aetherstables should come with a food-garden that supplies beastfood for the stabled beasts.
Thus, no stabling fees.
This would make it worth the cost!

A cost of five or six credits, maybe! If you have a spatula and you buy from Glom's comm shop, one credit buys 1866 feed. Another credit buys you a month and a half of stable fees. If you keep a beast for six OOC years, it becomes worth about 50cr. (Although, if you sell flowers for 25 gold, flower pots pay for themselves in just shy of 18 years, so that might be about par for a novelty thing.)
What would really make it cool is being able to set stable fees that go to your pocket.
