Sure, add in distort ether (org) archways. While you're at it, add cubix exits to ether(org) territories.

I would be fine with the cubix exits, at least we have the option to use shrine distort then.

People that aren't enemied can be forced to spore to the (room next to the) Master Ravenwood. It's our new tactic, "Stop griefing us or we'll dramabomb you!"

Alternatively, hire them to grief the snugglers. Griefers are happy, Seren is happy, and snugglers are dead!

I, for one, will tell novices/lowbies/midbies that they are fodder. Mag rarely expects those that can't fight to fight, but when it does happen, it's greatly appreciated. I am very much having pro-webbers biggrin.gif. The point is, both the leaders and the new people need to realize the limitations. In the past week, I've had many young Ninjakari ask how they can be useful in combat. I've told them that right now, the best they can do is keep bashing, start sparring those around their might, and realize that if they do choose to fight, they'll probably die. If they still come, hinder, because more than likely the won't get the kill.

Oh, I've never minded being told I'm fodder/I suck/whatever. It's true. The problem I have is with people demanding that I fight and then being upset when I suck. The simple fact is that I do in fact suck at pvp. I tell people this. With this iron clad truth, there are only two reasonable options 1) Decide that the most important thing is for me to fight and demand that I fight. Hope I get better. Accept that I will suck, perhaps forever. 2) Decide that you don't want someone who sucks fighting with you. You don't want those raiders getting XP, so leave me out of it. Hope that I manage to get better through sparring (or something). I DO think I'm getting better, but I'm uncertain. Time will tell, I suppose.

I've not had experience with being told how to help via things like hindering, either. Hmm.

You basically spam a low-level skill at whomever the group is targeting.
  • If you are a Druid or Wiccan, spam NATURE ROOTS for the entangle.
  • If you are a Warrior, spam HEADSLAM for the brief stun.
  • If you are a Monk, spam KA LOCK > KA SNAP for limb breaks or KA HOLD > KA THROW for prone + small amount of damage and possible stun. You will need to modify your first form (the grapple) with Speed, otherwise your target will writhe free before you can Snap or Throw. Even if he does writhe, a hold will still count as hindering.
HINT: Mages and Druids do not have GRIP like Warriors and Monks do. If you snap whichever arm is holding their cudgel/staff, they'll unwield it and have to mend the arm and rewield before they can start using it again. You can catch the systemless with this trick.
  • I do not know what you can do as a Bard. Sorry. tongue.gif

Mind blowing log.

If I was a member of Serenwilde and this type of thing happened more than once a RL year, I would not be a member of Serenwilde. I'd heard rumours on the wind about Seren, but holy god.
Unknown2010-07-20 05:21:53
If that happened in front of my face, their heads would be spinning as they were forcefully ejected from the organization(s) and territory.

I'm all for amending our Leaves to allow dealing with idiots.

I'm all for defending Seren allies and smacking down anyone who gives them grief when they defend us.

I need to learn how to compose news posts and scrolls to provoke people into action and out of apathy.

Maybe I even need to forgo the high road and start raiding Glomdoring myself. The mere thought of turning into the ones I fight against makes me literally nauseous.

Wick might be able to help with this, if you ask him IG.

I can safely say that in the two plus years I was in Serenwilde, I never saw anything near that bad. No idea what its like since this last December.

At least for the time I was there, I always rolled my eyes at the "snugglewilde" comments, because for the longest time, the two most severe things of that nature I saw were an incident in the Magnagoran stage (people take bards there! Let alone actually use the place), and a couple of gloms.

Generally though, "all of org A is X" comments are pretty broadly and bluntly the ignorance of "wanting to believe a poorly founded opinion", or just plain ol' stupid, in the OOC context. It takes all types.

Now, how much people can get away with in public, that's something the orgs can have a say in.
Unknown2010-07-20 05:35:10
Oh, and I'm sick to death of all the "Quit Serenwilde" and "come2" comments. It's not funny. It's not helpful. It's not necessary. Those of us who wish to remain in Serenwilde need constructive ideas on how to improve our situation, not replace the situation with a whole new one.
Estarra2010-07-20 05:46:00
Just to throw a little bit of perspective at the situation, Serenwilde's activity level is the highest out of all the orgs. This simply means that there are still lots of players in Serenwilde who are actively playing. That's not to say there aren't issues that need addressing but lack of population doesn't appear to be one of them.
Lehki2010-07-20 05:48:38
Was only half paying attention to what was going on there at the Nexus, completely missed the 'snuggling' till I read that log. xD

Edit:: Also we already get kicked out of Serenwilde often enough. Ironically, when we are there helping defend Serenwilde. Which is why most of us just don't bother anymore and it's not like Serenwilde ever returns the favour... which is why most of us are discussing dropping the treaty and kicking the crap out of Serenwilde ourselves. biggrin.gif gg keeping up good relations, Serenwilde

@Kalin: The single time I have ever been informed of a raid on gaudi, I helped kill a bunch of hallis. ):

Fair enough, but I've noticed that all the confidence, ability, and willingness to lead does you no good if you if you don't have at least a small group of core members to help and justify your stance. Once the leader and his small cadre get things going is when the momentum starts to build.

Afterall, every superhero needs his sidekick. Batman needs his Robin, Kamina needs his Simon, etc.

I'll be yo sidekick, g.

And so on.

This. Morale = win. Glomdoring has great morale. Seren, not so much. Sorry.

It's called:

Remove Conflict.

OR

Make Conflict more meaningful so that the pointless raids stop and that raiders will feel they actually accomplished something and therefore stop raiding.

Why does Glom raid anyway? Most of time I think it's because their bored.

QUOTE (Furien @ Jul 20 2010, 02:31 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
OR

Learn restraint.

Never going to happen with the current population. Never ever.

Played a mud a long time ago where getting killed meant that you got absolutely all your gear stolen (gold, what you were wearing, what you were holding, everything), and after 50 deaths your char got deleted. Yet nobody was griefing anybody (by griefing I mean kill someone, get all their stuff, wait for respawn, then simply kill them like a mob, can't imagine anything more annoying). No peaced places anywhere either. Why? The people playing were mature enough to restrain themselves, and the ones not mature enough... they were weeded out swiftly.

Again, this is never ever going to happen with Lusternia because it's designed to be a game for all ages. Show me a 15 year old that knows restraint. Not to mention I met 9 year olds playing Lusternia.

Yes, Serenwilde is the most active org because all the snugglers make alts there. Just see Everiine's log. That's not an isolated incident. I was usually at Mothers because I had just teleported or because I was linking. Saw that kind of behavior more than once, so I am guessing it's very common.

The only time I've ever kicked out Gaudis (which is maybe... twice?) is when they were making asses of themselves and deserved it.

The real kicker for me is that Geralden is from Gaudiguch, yet he barely ever moves away from our nexus. I've seen times where we have more foreigners at our nexus than we do Serens, which makes me just want to make them all leave and go do something productive, or RP in their own damn home for once.

So order him to leave. If he doesn't, enemy him. Easy enough, right?

He pulled that same crap in other places, basically being annoying to the point of "look, either leave or die".
