So... what's stopping you?

Maybe some sense of false loyalty? If you are not enjoying yourself, then simply quit. It's your right to enjoy yourself while playing a game, especially if you have payed irl money to play it.

Worried that your friends will get mad at you for leaving? Honestly, if you they get mad at you for that, they weren't your friends in the first place.

Worried that you might feel like you've failed the Shofangi? Despite what other people say, some things you just can't do by yourself. The Shofangi has been hurting for members for as long as I can remember, I doubt that anyone other than an admin can change that.

QUIT SERENWILDE was one of the best commands that I have ever sent to the mud.

This is only my opinion, feel free to disagree with me.

And as a side note, I've always liked Sadie, I don't know how you manage it, but sometimes when I talk to her I get this image of a puppy-eyed little girl who likes to tug at my shirt while saying "Hullo mister!", but when nobody is around she disembowels the family pet to bathe in its blood and wear its entrails as a necklace. Good job.

Awesome advice. Listen to this, everyone, in any org.

It's the mindset. If even Serenwilde's VA has given up and the only reason they're still a VA is for the ego of having the spot, well that sends the wrong message to the people who are valiantly trying to fight back.

Shiri is an OOC org traitor! Burn Shiri! Burn him at the stake!

I only scanned this thread, but for admin intervention to occur in this case, there would need to be either: proof that the actions of the Serenwilde leadership is driving players away, or proof that the Glomdoring leadership is supporting the targeting lowbies or other actions designed to drive players away (tacit support could be ignoring the actions when knowing they occur). I don't believe either is presently acute enough for the admin to take action (though you can offer proof that it is and we'll look at it), but it's certainly something the leadership should keep in the back of their collective minds when trying to address the issues.

I've said this before and I'll say it again, all it takes is one charismatic player to turn around an org. The problem is when everyone looks for that one person or waits for that person to arise instead of looking for that person within.

QFT!

Personally, for me, I don't want to play in Serenwilde anymore due to Moondancer leadership. When I can log on and say one or two things, and have specific leaders start arguing with me and essentially going "I'm right, you're wrong, so do as I say.", it does aggravate me to the point where I argue back, get heated, and essentially say "Screw it." I have no urge to play in Serenwilde while these people are leading at all. And so, because I value my fun to be more important to me than Serenwilde, I have alts.

It's not as fun if you don't name names.

I think it's this AND a --> dedicated, willing population<--, myself
Sarrasri2010-07-19 21:29:00
Because Moondancer leadership is...very vague?
Razenth2010-07-19 21:29:23
There's only three, and one lives in Australia.

(it was a subtle hint to find out specifically what you hate about Sylphas. I bet it's his pompadour)

I totally agree with Sojiro.

I would really like to meet that leader that will be able to overcome all the nepotism, snuggling and pure stupidity that goes on in Serenwilde. I honestly think that 90% of the people in Serenwilde are 16 years old, or less. Try leading them without the death penalty.

EDIT: there's nothing wrong with being 16 years old, or less. Well, you know what I mean.

And in this situation, no-- an active/inactive envoy has jack crap to do with Serenwilde's position.

I agree. In my opinion, envoys are completely irrelevant to the political atmosphere of an org. It's the community as a whole that dictate RP.

A charismatic leader can inspire willingness and dedication in a population.

That was more people trying to trollbait the thread into getting locked than anything, since the same subject about Sarrasri's Illuminati Alt managed to get an Eventru smackdown in the past.

Fair enough, but I've noticed that all the confidence, ability, and willingness to lead does you no good if you if you don't have at least a small group of core members to help and justify your stance. Once the leader and his small cadre get things going is when the momentum starts to build.

Afterall, every superhero needs his sidekick. Batman needs his Robin, Kamina needs his Simon, etc.

I kicked her out of Security for moving and removing guards without telling anyone. I gdfed her and took away gr19 because she blatantly broke guild policy in the process. And I asked her for a heads up about why we're using our envoy slot for Gaudi. Goddess forbid someone ask her to actually tell the guild what she's doing. She's been here forever and is a vernal, so obviously whatever she does is right and doesn't require anyone to know about it.

Oh, and then I argued with her about switching our construct and may have pulled the "If you think we're getting our ass stomped so hard, why don't you ever help?" argument, which she apparently didn't like, because she'd rather be the kind of "leader" who just does whatever, whenever and then goes to play her alt when someone contests her for inactivity.

Dude, nobody was saying anything or asking for an explanation. Krellan was just stirring things up, you didn't have to say it, again, or try and defend yourself.

Oh man, I just guessed Sylphas randomly, I didn't think it'd actually be you man.

P.S. Thread Juiciness Level Up. Stay Tuned.

I think he was responding to Shuyin to be fair.
