I'm not too interested in arguing this... if you guys enjoy LoL then that's great. But I would point out that the powerups in Hon and DotA don't slow, and the powerups are located in the river; warding the river means you've warded the powerup. In LoL you can't control powerups from your lane. Just something to chew on.

I've played some fairly high level games, and there the only purpose to early game pushing is to partially push your lane in order to buy yourself time to shop. If you abandon pushing you might be surprised by how much better you start to do because the game is not as push-friendly as you seem to think it is. No one in the upper third of the ranked ladder pushes during the early game.

In LoL, the power-up control comes from a proficient jungler or a team with map awareness larger than an electron. I'm not so sure you can really speak on the actual mechanics of League of Legends when you seem to lack the understanding of buff control - which is a core concept that needs to be understood before you even brush the beginning of middle tier.

EDIT: Also, you want to talk about passivity in gameplay when HON and Dota have bottled buffs, and the ease of controlling those buffs from your lane? As well as the massive amount of CC and healing in both games? The reason you probably see less pushing is because League of Legends games are decided by teamwork in one area - the easiest area right now to excel in and back in beta actually, was ganking. Early gank dominance tore teams apart. For a while, the meta revolved around pushing compositions of 4 healers and 1 ranged carry (typically Ezreal) in a sort of poke'n'pray team. An Ezreal with a red elixer and a Janna buffing him was a dangerous tower pusher and could destroy a tower by level 3.

I've been adoring Garen. Finally, someone I can pick without qualms, since if we end up without a tank I can just kind of shrug and kill people anyway. I'm honestly not sure what the point of Infinity Edge is on him, when he kills people left and right with tank gear.

However i've had mixed luck with solo queues. Sometimes it can be fun. Sometimes it makes me depressed (but the Gangplank game I had with Ilyssa over the weekend was really fun. Unfortunately I couldn't replicate the results in any further GP games)
