Question:
Let's say that Serenwilde, Glomdoring, Magnagora, and Celest wish to keep 2 Vernals each.

With Eventru's base numbers, this will mean that each organization will have a power debt of 4 million essence that they must repay.

Will this take into account the 1,000,000 power already spent to raise these individuals, or are these Ascendants going to end up costing an organization 3,000,000 power each (the initial 1,000,000, plus the debt of 2,000,000)?

I'm not discussing extra Ascendants that organizations may or may not have (such as in the case of Celest, they just have the two). Just the base set.

I'm pretty sure that the intital 1,000,000 will count. I mean, unless I've wildly misunderstood, the debt for the ones you keep will be the difference. If you keep two, then it would be 4,000,000 minus the 2,000,000 (1,000,000 each) you already paid. So, your org will be paying off 2,000,000 in debt.

But I might've misunderstood.

That's what I'd hope, but I figured it would be best to ask for clarification earlier rather than later!

I know it's been discussed, but I don't think we've ever been given a statement one way or the other. And even if we have, now that it's this close... well, confirmation is not a bad thing, eh?

As I recall, Eventru was giving examples / "base numbers" from the previous discussion, not what we're actually going to be experiencing. That last discussion was quite a while ago!

Power spent will count towards power owed. So each ascendant kept will have -1m from the debt, essentially. Keep 7 ascendants, -7 ascendants.

I think the numbers I gave previously regarding the power cost to raise are what we are going with. (2m for 1st, 2m for 2nd, 4m for 3rd, 8m for 4th, 16m for 5th, 32m for 6th, 64m for 7th, 128m for 8th, etc etc).

So if an organization has two ascendants and strips one, do they owe no power (2m spent under old system for 2 vernals, 2m owed under new system for 1) or 1m (1m spent for 1, 2m owed)?

They'd owe 1 milllion, I think.

They'd likely owe 1m, since they get 500k power back from dropping the ascendant.

only getting 40mil back is balls compared to spending 120mil, I enjoy bashing, it can be fun and relaxing, but recovering 80mil essence just to break even is a :censor: ton of time that I've already spent

I got back a good chunk of essence finally, but I'm still not quite sure if it's 1/3 of what I spent or 100% or what. Anyone else have a better idea? (I only spent about a few million to learn to Flight, and I didn't keep track of it.)

I still haven't gotten back any, but from the few who have reported that they did it has been 1/3.

Which may be better than none, but is still... complete rubbish, that's 2 months of dedicated hunting gone poof.

It should definitely be all, simply because it's not like we typed FORGET ASCENDANCE; it went away magically upon its own. Not our choice.
