VOTE: NOOLA
So far, Noola is pretty much the only person who stands out.
Noola claims to have far more powers than any other townie we've seen, claims to be an "Asteroid" variation of a villain, had a hidden navigator, etc. This makes her pretty much the only person I can point at and say "something's different about this one".
Plus, we need to do something.

With 8 alive, it is 5 to lynch. I'm also having one ready to replace Noola if she is not lynched today.

That's a lynch!
The group turns onto Noola, who has been oddly quiet lately. "You know... why would you be ASTEROID Starman specifically?" "And I couldn't get a good read of your navigator. What's up with that." "And all these various powers you've exhibited. What makes you that powerful?" "Hey? Why aren't you defending yourself... wait. Are you... chanting?" And, as if response to this question, Noola snaps her fingers, causing a flash of bright light to spread out over the area. When the light dims, she hovers high in the air, with an annoyed frown. "You weren't supposed to figure me out yet... I guess I underestimated your abilities. Well well. I shall not be defeated here. But you guys have fun. I estimate you will all die very shortly."
Noola snaps her fingers, and with those words, she escapes to haunt the world elsewhere, in another time.
Noola was Starman
After Noola has disappeared, Synl and Ayisdra start to glow, before they too disappear, forced to follow Noola wherever it is she is going.
Ayisdra was Serenade.
Synl was Searchman.
It is now Night 3
(And before you ask, Synl and Ayisdra were the ones culted by Noola.)

You are Starman
Cool, calm, collected and someone who knows what he wants. You have your own idea of what is right and wrong, and these annoying officials? They’re going to know about it soon enough. You’re your very own master, not allowing yourself to be pushed around by anyone. This means that you do not have a Navigator like the others do. To “liberate†the others, you’ve developed something you call the “star cureâ€. Unfortunately, you can only make one dose each day. Still, with your intellect, it should be easy to keep low until your group is in majority.
You win when your cult is in majority.
Starcure: In addition to the usual Navi abilities, you may each night give someone a starcure, which will bring them into your cult. They won’t know who you are though, and you can’t communicate with them.
Chip: Starshot (doublevote) Moondance (Require one more votes to be lynched) Sunflare (Negate the first slotted in chip someone uses (does not work on Program Advances)) Hole (allows one darkchip to be used)
Navichip: Starman.exe (Protects you from one non-lynch kill (darkchip)) Meteors (Create a 24 hour deadline)

Okay... dice tells me that Arix can automatically win now, so I'll just cut this game short instead of dragging out the inevitable. Game is over.
When dawn arrives, there's no trace of Saran anywhere. As the group starts to look for him, Shaddus suddenly begins to shake violently. His body distorts wildly and his whole being starts warping at random.
"He's glitched." Jack comments as he and Esano checks up on Shaddus, both failing to notice Arix looming behind them. They do not notice as he slots in a battle chip. They do not notice that he grows almost twice as tall. And Jack only notices that he is in trouble when two massive claws shred into Esano and tear him apart. Arix quickly follows up by pinning Jack and tearing out part of his programming.
"Thanks for your darkness control program." Arix says with a cruel grin as he tosses the wounded Jack aside. "I'll make sure to remember you after I've taken control of the net."
SERIAL KILLER WINS.
(End game explanation. Saran was NKed, Shaddus was glitched, (bugrush) dice tells that Shaddus lost his vote for the day and Arix had an executioner chip available, so he can lynch at one vote only. End result... yeah. Inactivity doesn't pay.)

Inactivity REALLY screwed town on this one. If people had been more talkative, it would have made my relative silence stand ou much more and I'd have been in serious trouble. Also, I was surprised that nobody seemed at all curious about me, except for whoever suggested a roleclaim, but that wasn't targetting me specificly.
Kiradawea2010-09-01 08:39:52
Despite town losing due to inactivity, I found the game interesting to mod. Sure, it makes me sad to see a game end due to what is essentially inactivity... but SK kept himself reasonably active through the game, and won due to that. Sure I would prefer more activity but...
Either way, I hope people had fun at least. I have a few small questions.
How do you feel the chip and action system worked? It was a bit difficult for me to keep tabs on, but I feel it added a different element of strategy. I'm surprised that nobody ever tried swap. Wasn't it worthwhile enough?
And how do people feel the regular chips compared to the higher powered Navi chips. Did you have to think between choosing one or the other?
Regarding PAs. They were more powerful combinations intended to be kept hidden. Should they have been revealed from the beginning, and the Folderback be made into a regular Oracle power?
Personally, I feel my greatest failure was that, with so many "investigations" possible, Starman and Beastman were still a bit too telling and could be lynched on flavour confirmation alone. This is something I try to prevent, or even punish... but it worked out in the end anyway.
Finally, thanks for playing. I hope you all had fun.

Ha, that's great!

1) I feel the system was nice, but the a bit confusing that we had 'actions' and such ...
2) I felt that both were nice, but people with darkchips couldn't use hole and their chip at the same cycle.
3) What exactly is a PA/PA do? Did I miss something in the role claims on how that worked?
Over all, I do enjoy the games with twists, despite my overall suck at mafia in general.
and what was being so 'secret' of the Officials being town? Your reply to me on that made it sound like they were a 3rd party.

You recall:
Most PAs require one Navi chip and two or three regular chips. By slotting in chips that work well together with the Navi chip, you can get a Program Advance that vastly enhances the power of the Navi, but a PA can only ever be used once.

I'm not too sure I liked the system but I don't see the PA's working. With everything working off of chance I would have had to steal two chips and randomly generated a third then formed my navi chip, with a limit on actions it's looking really unlikely that these would have happened. Where as, if Noola had known about this she could have been doing a pa every other day or so.

I thought it was a neat system, the game was really only hampered by inactivity. (Yeah, I know I wasn't around at the tail-end much either, boooo.) I'd like to see a similar system employed in future games.

Yeah. Darkchips were intended not to be useable once a day, since they were meant to be more powerful than the norm.
I also hate mafia losing due to minor details such as "X didn't know that in this game, Town is called Y" so I intentionally answered to try and goad players not to try the "If you're town, what is the name of town?" As may have been guessed, I am not fond of investigation either, so I always try to make it overly specialized, or toss in some sort of insanity on it. Being investigated scum shouldn't be an automatic lynch.
And it is true that Noola could have made a PA every other day, but it would still have required her to know that she needed to slot in her chips in the order given, and nothing else. Considering that one chip was a dark chip, what would be the actual chances that she would discover the PA through accident? About zero is my guess.

Yeah. Shame on you. I told you to not take too many white pills, but noooo. You just had to go and stone yourself out and let Arix eat Saran.
More seriously, the chip system was something I puzzled with as an MP system for a few characters in the Meta-Mafia. I could probably redesign and add a few more powers to the characters I've made in other games, but it'll still be some time until next time I run a mafia game...
So, instead I'll just have to join the upcoming games and rush through them with activity. Either way, it was fun to have you as a player, and in the end, I am kinda happy that town lost, since it was a loss brought on them due to inactivity. Except for Noola being lynched, all deaths were from inactivity or the Werewolf.

I think we should hold off on the next game for a while and let interest in Mafia build back up for a bit before running a new game because at this point, I feel that any game that starts up will just have the same problem this game had.

Seems like a good idea actually.
