Glomdoring has lumber production down to a freaky precise science. It doesn't mean that the Basin is overflowing with wood. Still, the only issue there is what's lost in the non-tithes, since there's only one harvest per year, unless that's been fixed.

Pretty much.
Ideally, if people want more wood, they will try to learn what weights trees need to reach before they start dropping decent lumber, and stop rampantly chopping them in neutral prime areas just to try and get lucky. Faethorn is kind of a lost cause... so maybe a few new, harmless forested areas on prime might be the best answer for the overall population of the game.

Some of the prices still seem pretty high for things like, say, silk. Other than that everything seems to be heading in the right direction.

Here's a thought! What if, bashing a certain number of weevils each day ensures that all the druidic trees in that forest get a bit of extra growth? You could stagger it out at certain numbers if you're worried about it being too efficient.

Trees are made by druids. Druids need them to stop mages from melding over their melds. It's not a skill that was made to grow trees for the sake of trees

It makes a lot more sense to have only druids able to plant trees, than to have only villagers able to figure out the middle step between cutting down trees, and sawing up planks to make tables.

Everything's been looking spiffy so far, with fairly balanced reasonable prices over all.
The only thing I would like to continue whining about is for spinnerets to have a greater impact on silk stock and price and/or for an easier way to make them en masse.

Yes, that was way back then when artisan nor tracking were introduced. Since then lumber demand had gone up and trees have ceased to be used only for melds or forest protection.

As much as I wish I could agree with this, the fact is, the skill by which druids plant saplings that protect melds (and eventually, produce lumber) came well after artisan and tracking were introduced.
