Tbh at this point, by guild balancing, I imply 'monks and certain awesome class/tert combos'. I know there's a transmology/harmonics report, I'm talking about the other stuff. Pyromancy, Starhymn, etc.

But Pyromancers are fine! People just don't work hard enough at it.
Kiradawea2010-08-27 09:25:39
Ah, you mean instead of class balance it's more a "make the utterly bad classes worthwhile and nerf monks". I can get behind that.
Unknown2010-08-27 09:30:47
Well, if we're going to be sarcastic about Pyromancy, my full opinion is that Pyromancy barely works just because they're a mage class, and mages are wtfbananas.
Carry on though!
Carry on though!

Family review is so close and I'm willing to settle for it at this point. Anything to get one of those issues fixed.

Family review is always second to something else.

I worry that a lot of those voting for bugs are hoping that all of their troubles will be solved with this. All of the bugs on their buglist, all of the quest bugs, and Dreamweaving will be fixed. And at the end of all this, even Maeve will be sane. Frankly, I highly doubt that such will be the case, a lot of bugs that people who voted for this solution would like to have fixed won't be, or will not be deemed bugs or will be turned away to envoy process. We'll probably walk away with: what did we actually achieve? When we could walk away with major and wonderful things for a, b, or c.
That's why some of us have suggested a general catch up on the Envoy process, and perhaps double up on Envoy slots for the next month in addition to general bug fixes.

Honestly upon drinking on it further, I think guild balancing is the way to go again (and bugs).
Double this.

I originally voted races (I'm kinda still annoyed that we had this huge racial review a while back but Merians were STILL BROKEN), but I think trades are definitely more deserving.
Especially bookbinding. I'm ok with not making gold off it, but for a flavour skill it's remarkably flavour-less, no one uses languages anything
Also! Commodities! Had my first real run in with how ridiculous it is yesterday, trying to get some robes made. Things do not double in price if you buy a sixth of what's available...

I've voted for bugs, because its become painfully apparent that we can't simply do a racial adjustment without turning it in to a production number much larger than it really needs to be.
If we could limit it to direct adjustments to merians/mugs/Maybe Aslaran, without pulling out and messing around with the underpinnings of the system, impacting many races, then I'd say go for it. But we can't seem to manage that.
Let alone do it without saying nerf (illithoids|Kephera|faelings|elfen|the other side) because winning means making the other person broken in a bad way.
So, bugs fixes it is.
This too!

Bugs > Family > Tradeskill > Races in that order. It is also the order in which most people are affected, sort off. But please, do them all!
Everiine2010-08-27 14:16:25
I voted for bugs because, honestly, we as players need to time to adjust to all the new things that have recently come out; I'm beginning to think Estarra locked all of the admins in a room with typewriter-wielding monkeys and said "Beat the monkeys or you won't come out alive!!" Seriously, you guys are amazing for the sheer amount of stuff you've released the past few months. But, even the new stuff is buggy. We need time to get used to a lot of it, and I think time spent making sure what he have works is better spent than adding in yet another thing that will need to be tweaked. The bug backlog may be small, but there's important stuff on it that.

Any chance the bug option could include things like redoing the message system? Maybe adding a server-side timer?

I thought the definition of 'no new stuff, just fix bugs' meant... Well... No new stuff.

Bugs > Tradeskill > Family > Races would be more correct actually.
Not every player will be a part of a family and they are pretty much an optional extra(seriously, you could delete families and there would be no real issues as everyone who actually wanted a family would just move them to clans instead). Tradeskills cost lessons(plus credits in those where artifacts are neccessary) and are needed/valuable for various aspects of the game (except tinkering).
