Equally applicable and equally as useless to every Trill, you mean. No fighting or influencing occurs in the skies, so it's pointless having that regeneration (for Crow people too). At least with clouds, if an area is naturally clouded or is clouded by an Aeromancer in the Undervault, you can use the regen.

Quoted for truth. The only time I am ever hunting while flying is crystals in the Nexus World and it's not like I need the regen then anyways as Mercy pretty much covers it. Flying regen is basically completely useless and most of the time I forget about it anyways.

I was a Trill before you were BORN, little miss .
If you were a good trill, you would have moved to Hallifax. You went barbaric on us.

Also, unless I'm mistaken, Clarramore is naturally clouded, and there could appear more naturally clouded areas.

I have always been barbaric. Now that I no longer rely on you and your primitive maintenance skills I do not need to hide it.
Lilia2010-09-15 20:37:51
Umm, I use the flying regen all the time. I don't like to sip if I don't have to, so if I have a fair amount of health to heal, I'll just fly. With mercy it makes regen pretty fast.

Don't call my skills primitive, I have 100 in the repair skill.

A bit impractical from a combat standpoint though. Totems also gets regen if you're at your Nexus. Little practicality as well
Lilia2010-09-15 22:08:04
That's true, I generally expect to die if I'm fighting another player.

That got changed ages ago to also be adjacent to other totems.
The regen in the air thing seems like it's either intended to be for aeromancers, or for something that hasn't happened yet. The trouble is, even if someone has some brilliant idea for a future area with hunting or influencing in the air, that thrice-damned wind thing will ruin it anyway.

I would much rather have a regen I could actually use in combat/hunting/influencing as opposed to when I'm sitting around. Flying during combat would actually maybe work if Hexagram didn't go through shields (or maybe it's Geyser I forget).
EDIT: Just tested both Hexagram and Geyser go through shields and reflections.

Are other regens really powerful enough to be of use in combat?

I presumed Everiines point about keeping him his thing and not giving more of what you dont need seems valid if you understood it as I did. You want a race to regenerate in the same terrain an aeromancer can already imbue with both passive healing and curing? You want lvl 10 regens with curing in a meld?
I know you dont have every area melded but that means inside of a meld there is a huge amount of healing going on, and why do we need shadowdance drink as a meld again? :/
Dracnari dont have a regen, and they have crappy sipping, them I can see as more so needing it. Trill is a pretty solid all around race (I have used it as a caco, a harb, a nihi, and geomancer).

Dracnari regenerate in volcanic terrain, actually.

Besides the ease of noting that one, there's no such thing as level 10 regens and trying to make something worse than it is would go better if you go the classic 'over 9000?!!?' approach, and that two, passive curing in a meld isn't something new, no one said no to Dracnari regen being tossed up to the burning/volcanic thing they have going on.
Anyways. As I've noted before, better to shove the regen in places you might actually get some use from it than its current incarnation. Woo.
Edit: Casilu makes me misdirect my amusement with her ninja posting skills.
Also, 80mil, please.

I think Dracnari regen in pyro terrain was something we all wanted anyway. Every other spec race heals in their meld environment. EQUALITY!

This isn't something new, Merians have level 2 regen in an Aquamancer meld that has passive healing and curing. Granted, Westwind is better than Healspring + Sweetfount. I don't understand why the power cost on Sweetfount wasn't totally removed.
