As the topic says, your opinions on Ecology vs. Glamours. The pros, the cons, and the in betweens. If you're asking for specifics, let's go with Harbingers!

Glamours is great for groups, but so are smudges.
I think glamours still wins out though just because of rainbowpattern, hynoticsomething, maze, maelstrom, transfix, and all that.
I hear Ecology is better bashing though because charms are pretty OP.

In terms of commune bard effectiveness, it depends on what you want.
Glamours is ideal for a quick offense that spans through a range of both passive and active skills. IllusorySelf is expensive to maintain, but excellent while it lasts. Being able to dispell illusions is also a handy bump too.
Ecology, for me, is more tailored for utility and defense. As noted above, charms are great for DMP, and transmigration is great for people who like to bash Prime. Pathways are just droolworthy, and you get to play with banes too.
Both are good for their group usefulness, what with Glamours' maelstorms and mazes, and Ecology's smudges. For downsides though, Glamours can get expensive and once an IllusorySelf poofs, your DMP is kinda iffy. Ecology being poison reliant (even with SnakeBane) isn't going to lock anyone else either.
All in all, I'd say, it's up to you to see what it is you want to accomplish.

Glamours tends to be power intensive during the course of a fight.
Though not many people do it, fighting with your fetish and not your animal is actually very helpful. There is a lot more control with ecology because you know what you are afflicting with.
