So, I decided to go about digging in the other ideas thread and figured I'd toss up here as well the things I personally liked too. Since it is a review for all the stuff that has gotten the chance to settle down now, I wouldn't mind seeing more things for the demigods too.
Thus, the following (besides the mandatory 80million essence return bump here):
*The return of Consumption as a general demigod power tied around the domoths. Different messages depending on the domoth used, would drain a corpse for personal essence gain (much as Illdrain does for ego) and destroy it. A nice alternative to offering corpses, I think.
*A demigod bashing power flavoured around the nine domoths. Think, wiccan/guardian-level damage, eq-based, magic sourced (for arties), damage type based on the domoth flavour you choose (poison, fire, cold, cutting, blunt, asphyxiation, magic, electric, psychic), 4s eq, but has the perk of (strictly on denizens) cleaving on a shielded target for ease of bashing. A successful cleave would add more eq to the attack (maybe .5 - 1s more). An alternative to Destruction (which is aimed towards more speed and high damage caster bashing).
*Additions to the ChoiceLookMessage power that would add an extra line to your description near the beginning that would reflect your current chosen look message. Ie. if you have the 11th Beauty Look chosen, instead of being 'She is an ordinary human demigoddess and..', you'd get 'She is an ordinary human demigoddess shrouded by a perfumed, lavender mist and..'
*A series of emotes and illusions strictly tied to the domoths as another flavour skill. Think, ChoiceIllusionMessage that'd have different preset emote/illusions that'll give another bit of depth to your character. I figure it'd be easier to think up of more things per domoth as opposed to the regular three seen with the Choice powers.
*The possibility of choosing DMP to one of the 9 listed damage types listed above. Fairly hefty cost though not so hefty weight (I'd say), that would have the rough equivalent to the level one racial resistance (so that it would be subject to racial limitations too). But it'd help tone down some things like a dracnari's cold weakness by one or a loboshigaru's magic weakness, maybe. And new resistances to asphyxiation and psionics would be nice, maybe.
*Another series of skills that already exist but are condensed into one power that're tied around the domoths to pick up every day utility things. I'd call it ChoiceUtility maybe, with the following skills being given by the chosen domoth evoked:
Nature: The ability to totem carve an elder tree.
Chaos: The ability to give an enchantment a random amount of recharges. (Note: works on magictomes)
Harmony: The ability to feed a mount regardless of its loyalty.
Knowledge: The ability to learn a new language.
Beauty: The ability to instantly destroy an exhibited painting or erected statue.
Justice: The ability to trueground a room for 1p instead of 2p.
War: The ability to barge open a door/knock down a wall.
Life: The ability to mend an item to increase its months before decaying. (Note: item has to be in your inventory)
Death: The ability to induce an item's destruction by decreasing its months before decaying. (Note: item has to be on the ground, and sigils are immune to this to prevent monolith griefing. Would be handy for speeding up the poof times on fossils, gravestones, flamed underwear at the nexii, etc.)
I would limit the capability of being able to shift between the domoths to once an IC month just so that people can't keep hopping back and forth between say, languages, picking Aslari one moment to Elfen in the next. For the skills deemed active, I'd suggest a heavy balance/mana cost to balance their use and to keep from easy spamming. Could separate these into different abilities with different weights and costs if you want, but I think that just one power that acts as a swiss army knife for these several, mini utility skills would be a lot more popular than others. Hefty cost and weight.
And now for things that aren't so domoth related but would be a nice spread for demigod powers:
*The ability to cone power nodes. Since I'm giving caster bashing some help, melee bashers would like this option, I think.
*A series of new influencing attacks that end up not with the current effects of begging, seduction, paranoia, empowering or weakening, but a bump of extra esteem/xp upon success instead. A toss for deminfluencers.
*An ability to toggle on and off a report on the denizen's health whenever you damage it. Like how warriors get different messages for different stages of a critter's health, instead of changing each and every single bashing attack to do this, just add a line after the hit that says like: A kephera warrior fumbles in duress/staggers backwards in pain/bleeds heavily from several wounds.
*ChoiceLook/Enter/Teleport/Zap/Shout according to Divine Order membership added also, plz.
*The ability to relay remotely from anywhere you are to wherever you choose to 'hook' the other end to. Think, like a globe of essence I'd set at the Master so that I can say things and hear things from wherever I am. Have to touch the globe on either end before the next thing that is said is sent over. Like an e-telephone! (Slight bump for me missing Omniscience goes....here).
*A heavy cost of essence for the severance of your bloodline ties. Clear away your parents and be able to start anew for x-million essence.
*A heavy cost of essence for a reincarnation. Why not?
And...that's it for me for now.
P.S. 80 million bump.

Can the beast powers (urlife, compatriotofchaos, peacefulcompanion, sanctityofbody) be reviewed? Currently they're only usable one day a month, which is ... pretty horrible. Can we change it to a certain amount out of every hour (like HavocCry and JudiciousPresence) or implement a scaling cost per use in an hour or day (like BreathOfLife)?
EDIT:
I also support a full refund for Ascendance, if possible.
And I think that BreathOfLife should not be changed from its current ranged soulrezz state. I also think it shouldn't cost 250k a pop (currently it's 35k + 35k*rezzes in that IC day) due to the high initial cost (which is twice as much as Avatardom), and although I could see support for an increase in supernumerary weight, I'm not sure it's that necessary either. If you're afraid of the combat implications of soulrezz, make it fling you to the Portal or your nexus or some such so you're not able to immediately assist in a distant battle (it already gives grace, and them praying then you rezzing will just move you to the PoF as with avatar rezz, so this won't make much of a difference to your ability to escape).
Unknown2010-09-15 15:26:36
Breath of Life would be good if it was changed so you were rezzed at your nexus, or the portal of fate. Right now the problem I can see with it is you can keep a raid going for a ludicrously long amount of time with it, as long as you have some ascendants up there.

The building essence cost kinda prevents that. The tenth person you resurrect will cost you 350k essence.
EDIT: And the total cost for resurrecting ten people ends up at about 2m.

I would have an issue with people being able to raid prime territories and getting instantly whisked back to their nexus if they get rezzed.
The correct answer is to make essence cost per resurrection scale higher if necessary, as necessary.
Talan2010-09-15 16:41:47
The building cost is just not very much, as it resets every game day. If you would keep it so low and so unrestricted, perhaps that cost should instead be compounded throughout the game month.
It is good that there is a ranged soul-rez ability, but in the past the restrictions on frequency, cost, and order-limitations meant that we actually had to consider when to use it. So a demigod or ascendant from your order dying in enemy territory when you know they have low essence, perfect, you can use your essence to rezz them so they don't lose more phoenixing or be forced to reform. Someone dying on prime in a hard-to-reach or dangerous area where you can't easily run for the body, perfect time to use. Now though, once you have purchased this ability, the cost is generally so low that you need not be discerning about when to use it at all. I think that is incorrect.
Also, the arguments that old avatar rez had a lower initial cost, and a higher per-use cost, I answer by saying that part of the initial cost was subsidized by the god (since they also put out their own essence to avatarize you), and that cultivating the relationship with a god and devotion to the order that would merit becoming avatar is probably worth a bit more than a difference of 10m essence anyway.

That's why I said some, not an. If you're chock full of Ascendants and Vernal Demi's *coughcoughGLOMANDMAGcoughcough* you'd be able to spread the essence cost out rather easily, and since it's global, they wouldn't even have to be in danger.

Mag only has 2 vernal demis and neither are active.
Seren's the other one with a bunch, and only 1 is active.
Also that's assuming that many of them take Breath of Life. Off hand I only know of one vernal demi with it currently

I want BoL. It's so much better than BoF.
Eventru2010-09-16 13:26:00
As I've said, Breath of Life is being fixed back to its original design (same-room rezz).
Avatar Rezz will probably come back, though as an avatar-only demigod power.
Feel free to suggest an essence cost/weight to-purchase.

I really hope you're going to be offering a refund for Purity of Soul as well, for those people whose only rez skill is Breath of Life.
Immolation doesn't count; spending 100p to get between 40 and 100p back is counterproductive.
Xiel2010-09-16 21:31:55
And there's the problem with changing how skills work or purposefully leaving AB's vague and unclear. Spending 20mil on BreathofLife and 15mil on PurityofSoul for how they work together now after the multitude of tweaks that were reported before was an investment I was willing to make, but this plan you're spouting off towards making it a same room/have body requirement is something remarkably different from what I paid for with time and effort and, quite frankly, wouldn't have considered now if the facts of the matter were made clear initially.
Why wasn't this addressed already before this much time has passed between the burst of tweaks done to the demigod powers and things have gotten to the point of settling further and letting people invest more in them? With the 80mil I've already miraculously lost and probably a further 35mil now (since I'm not going to bother with a same room/have body rez skill since I can just immolate then and PurityofSoul just won't make up for that amount of cost), things aren't looking so nice.
I'd appreciate some answers as to the lack of clear communication being done and whether or not I'll have to swallow down another 35mil loss to invest in something I would actually end up using.

This is, frankly, what is annoying the everliving out of me.
These abilities are overpriced to the point where, when I look at them, I have no desire to purchase the things on the whole.
There were two that were actually worth the cost, and so I bought them. Now they are, for no apparent reason, getting themselves nerfed. After we told them how it worked, months ago. After we already had this discussion. And after we bought them with the expectation that this was how it was supposed to work now, given the way the last discussion ended.
80,600,000 essence gone just from the first 'change'.
Now I'm looking at another 35,000,000 here.
Seriously, what the heck is this system supposed to be? I'm not even getting the point here. Sure, 27 new abilities for Ascendants only, hooray. Every single one of them overpriced, nearly all of them useless and will never be purchased (so only the TA with that as their Seal will ever have them... I'm looking at you here, Mr. Nature Boy Xiel), and you go to destroy the only abilities actually worth their cost.
I am very frustrated.
Edit: For reference, that's roughly equivalent to the amount of experience it takes to go from level 1 to Demigod that I'm looking at having lost here. And that's before the next bloody nerf that comes along to whatever else I might buy.
Edit 2: Yes, I self-censored a non-curse word. So sue me.

Nope.
We didn't ask for Ascendants to get stripped.
We didn't ask for stuff to get taken away so we could rebuy it.
We didn't ask for the crumbs they give us back to be insanely priced.
We didn't ask for the few things that were worth the cost to get neutered.
We didn't ask for essence to get taken away, with no return, for no reason.
Rika2010-09-17 11:53:57
I know we didn't, but that's what they'll tell us.
Veyrzhul2010-09-17 14:10:34
Just strip any tweaked skills and reimburse essence fully. And reimburse those damn 80/whateveramountapplies million. (Did anyone already make a statement as to whether there are actually any records of people's Ascendance skill level before they removed it?)
Aside from that, I don't really like the suggestions that amount to stacking yet more dmp (or getting dmp in areas that are otherwise hard to get), influencing output or choosing damage types. To the latter, if you merely want a caster 'cleaving' attack (which I think is really superfluous considering the bashing speed you can get to with destruction), the damage type shouldn't be of any importance to you, anyway. It's certainly not a 'flavour' perk.
Also no to generally accessible coning/*linking. It was criticized that skills were made public as dingbat items, let's not go there with demi-/ascendant powers now.

Yes. Eventru has told us that they saved the complete essence amounts that everyone had invested in Ascendance.
