wait, what? i have to pay extra for alts? and what if i switch guilds or stop playing one character and move to another?

Personally, I think 60cr is pretty reasonable for each character, considering the amount of work involved in creating something like this.

Seconded.

There have been systems in the past that have been absolute crap and still sold for 2/300cr.

This is a steal. If you cannot see that, then I really don't know what to say.
Vadi2010-09-21 02:40:32
It's actually not 60cr for each character, it's cheaper - skillsets you already got a free, so if you make another alt with the stuff you got, it's free. 6cr for other skillsets - so if you have like 2 that differer, just 12cr. It says it on the Buy page as well?

so basically its 6 per archetype ( so if Pesukaru got it, it would also work for a harbinger/ss/caco), or is it more like 6 per guild? and what exactly does this buy me? reflexes based on my current guild (ie, springup instead of stand if im a bard or acro monk, cast cleanse instead of rub if i'm a mage)?

@prav: though i somewhat agree with you, i dont want to pay 20+ bucks per character. plus, no offense but the last time i made the mistake of outing an alt to one person, the whole forums found out and that character, who had just had 600 credits poured into them i payed cash for, was treated like a pariah in seren, skipped over for three commune favours, and basically ignored. (oh. its only a shaddus alt.) not saying vadi isn't discrete, just saying.

Not paying 20+ for each character, it's 60cr/$20 for the first set of skills, then 6crs per new skill added.

If it means anything to you, it is the same on Achaea - where quite a few people use my system; and there have been zero accusations on me. People play completely opposite sides and nothing comes out from me, ever.

nah, i know you're on the up and up. i just want to make sure what this entails. is it (like i said) basically 6 per skillset/archetype( for instance, acrobatics, elementalism, rituals, ), or is it 6 per person beyond the first, period? and would you actually need to know who it is, or could I for instance buy (depending on the first question) a "bard, a guardian, and a monk package"?

i guess an easier way to ask is...lets say i buy this for Joe the paladin. do i need to also pay another 6 for john the ur'guard?

As far as I can tell, it's 6cr per named skillset you see in AB. So if you've bought for a Paladin, that's included Knighthood, one of the four Knight specialisations, Athletics, and then either Rituals+Sacraments, or Hunting+Tracking, for a total of five skillsets. If you later bought for a separate ur'Guard character, you'll pay 6cr for each new skillet. If that character has the same weapon spec and both your characters are trackers, it'll be free! But if you've taken a different weapon spec and Rituals+Necromancy, you'll pay 12cr (6 for the spec, 6 for Necromancy).

Therefore, the most you'll ever pay for a new character is 30 credits, because the max number of new skills is five (I think!)

Tempted, but that means I'd have to start learning how to code in another client all over again. I was just starting to be able to do simple triggers on Mush. sad.gif

mkay, thats close to what i was hoping. what exactly would buying the new weapon spec -do- for me? and if i buy the set for pesu (music acro tarot) wouldnt it basically be usable for a caco with tarot? what would buying the music spec do for me?

as well, lets say i buy an aquamancer package. what exactly would require me to buy an aeromancer package if i played one too?
Shaddus2010-09-21 04:08:21
bah, my phone fails on the forums.
Furien2010-09-21 04:10:23
Your connection really loathes you today.

OT: I am totally trying this out with my next set of credits, as much as buying a system from a Gloomer makes me uncomfortable. (Flashbacks to YouKnowWho's killswitch etc; even though Vadi's excellent reputation far precedes him.)

I'd assume specific skills correlate to skill-specific defenses and/or cures. Therefore, having specific skill packages isn't -necessary- to use the core system, but helps customise the curing/def stuff to the class.

Going from aqua -> aero would require purchasing the aeromancy package, if you wanted it (for triggers for demesne curing, etc.), and, if you are changing tertiary, the new tertiary package.

Dearest Rika, if you've done lua in MUSH, it is almost identical here.

hrm, alright. 90% of the specs i can manual the few defs i need. yeah, once i get my laptop fixed i'll give this a try for pesu. if it works out, i might expand to a few more. out of maybe 24 alts, only 4 max are into combat anyway.

First, making simple triggers in mudlet is way easier than mush. Same coding language, simpler way of doing it.

And I've gotten this system(with some help from some very awesome people) and I'm loving it. Only complaint I have is that certain parts of it don't mesh with a lot of the things I already had. But this an otherwise great system. I need to spend some more time with it, but I highly recommend it to anyone with the credits to spend.
