having actually read the site now, i'm impressed. do you have a toggle for using Healing skills? any notes for astrology?
Doesn't use healing on yourself yet although that's something I'm definitely interested in doing again - fullhealing, partial healing modes. Not sure what do you mean about Astrology, if it's utility scripts - addons will come after the beta.

I've never used Mudlet. I've never used m&m.
I have used Vadi's system on Achaea.
Vadi is the shiz. End of story. If there's an issue, he's always (and I mean *always*) nipped it sooner than I could expect.
If the caliber of this system evolves to that of his system for Achaea, the face of combat in Lusternia will change forever. It will no longer be you vs. your opponent. It will be you vs. Vadi.

This.
Reputation means an awful lot and it has been more than proven in this case, I feel.

Not sure if it was asked. what about skills that were skillflexed?
say I have the normal nature and totems, but I also have runes active and dreamweaving inactive? does that mean I would have to pay 66 credits for it, or just 60...?

Vadi2010-09-21 12:17:06
It'd be 66, and system would have all skills available all the time

Vadi has been a pleasure to interact with during this entire beta process. He is open and friendly and jumps on any issue brought up. I have never used a system written by anyone but myself so I was rather wary to begin with but I just flat out did not have time to work on my own so gave it a shot and am very glad I did.
I won't comment on the features already mentioned but focus more on the api. Integrating your own scripts into the system is extremely easy. I have built my offensive aliases, debating scripts, bashing scripts, influencing scripts all using the balance functions inherent to the system with no problems and no bad interactions. I especially like the ability to change my priorities around as I see fit without much difficulty and rapidly which makes how the system handles in different situations very dynamic.
The biggest feature I like has to be the ability to plug your own custom parry/stancing function in. I'm picky about how my parrying/stancing works and like that I can control it to great detail without it being remotely a problem and without breaking anything.
It is a very polished, very customizable, well documentated, well supported system from an IRE and system building veteran. Vadi knows what he's doing and enjoys doing it. This is a great system and will be a great benefit to anyone who cannot write their own for any reason and wants to be able to compete.

Not to sound contrary, but my free system can do 95% of this stuff being mentioned, like dynamic priorities or custom parry/stance. Anyone with a support contract gets to learn how.
Shaddus2010-09-21 13:59:10
yeah, and how does it handle in choke? No offense, but 75% of the reason I'm pondering this is choke. I use AG, and (no offense if you're reading this, Eth) but it sucks in choke, sap,and stuff like that. I'm also wanting to see how it holds up in large group fights. AG Usually freezes and won't let me put in commands if it's too spammy.
Unknown2010-09-21 14:47:58
I'll just say it myself, too: Treant really sucks in choke, sap, and even aeon.
Shaddus, did you even read the features on the m&m web site? There is a whole section on choke and a log, too. Quit bein' lazy, man.

yeah, I did, which is why I'm pondering it

If you'd read ALL the words, you'd already know the answers to most of your questions.

All I wanted was clarification of the "need to pay more than 60 credits" part.
Unknown2010-09-21 14:56:08
You just asked how it did in choke!
Vadi2010-09-21 15:00:16
It doesn't freeze in massivelagfests, very snappy actually given how both the client and system are designed for speed. I'll get a couple of quotes on people who tried choke curing had to say

Can you say "fanboy"? You sound like Vadi is the second coming of Estarra (no offense to Vadi, of course).
More to the point, Lusternia is more than four years old. Everyone who is the very least interested in coding a system would have learnt how to do the usual 95% things that m&m and Treant does. What not a lot of systems do well is curing in blackout, in fact, not many systems that I know of cure in blackout at all. And Vadi handles it more than fine from the logs. Choke/sap/aeon curing coded by a choker and active combatant? Great.
EDIT: Also, I have found a few of your features quite interesting, I am going to code them in my system. Thanks.
Vadi2010-09-21 15:58:06
He sort of speaks the truth, although time will tell better, I suppose.
Sure.
Sure.
Vathael2010-09-21 16:06:27
My old zmud system I used like 3 years ago cured fine in blackout. Curing in blackout isn't something new, it is a nice feature though, sure.
Sior2010-09-21 17:35:07
It cures 340 afflictions? No way we have that many!
Unknown2010-09-21 17:37:57
Some may be meta-afflictions (put up shield, tumble out, etc), and several are similar (broken left leg, broken right leg, etc), but we do have a metric ton of afflictions in Lusternia.

Actually, if you include those, it looks like over 1000.
