just to make sure, what syntax are you using for imbuing your angel?
invest angel with sensitivity anorexia.

mkay. you do realize those two dont mesh well though, right? i forget off the top of my head what cures sensitivity, but all I have to do is make an alias that does (smoke coltsfoot;cure for sensitivity) and i just rendered your angel's attack ineffective with a two button command.
i keep harping on vapors for a simple reason: it's probably the celestine's best bond, an affliction that you can hide other afflictions behind like sensitivity, anorexia, kneel, recklessness, paralyze and more. use it, love it. trust me, the less an enemy sees you hit him with, the better.
try other combos too. paralyze/kneel is killer against monks.

I was purely trying to test how much damage inquisition can do along with attacking. and it seems that the maximum it does (when using symbol strike at least) is just above 3000 damage, and that's assuming I manage to inquisition someone standing in hallowedground & with sensitivity
Sensitivity is cured by eating myrtle and so while you are right that it's easy to smoke and eat to cure both. There's not much else i can use to stick sensitivity except for aurawarp (which can't be used in combination with inquisition)
paralyse/kneel is a combination i use alot in group combat to help pin someone down so the group can get their hits in on them. But it's not going to get me anywhere solo
Shamarah2010-09-23 02:13:28
Fucking switch your tertiary. Going healer celestine and then complaining you can't kill anyone is like going tae'dae... well, tae'dae anything and complaining you can't kill anyone.

cannot use aurawarp if I'm trying to use inquisition
What? Yes you can. If you can't, your discipline is too low, and you couldn't kill as Celestine anything. You're a healer Celestine, and you're unwilling to stand and tank/sleep block tumble for a few seconds?

Trans discipline. I always have 0 power after using inquisition (this is the second time I've said this in this thread.)
I already have to pre-spend 3 power just to use hallowedground (which also has a duration, 1-2 minutes or something). then wait to recover.
Aurawarp costs 2 power and lasts 30 seconds (this needs more testing. i've been told it should last longer but so far it's seemed to only last 30 seconds) . in theory I suppose it would be possible to hallowedground... wait (and hope they don't leave the room).. aurawarp... wait (and hope they don't leave the room and cure aurawarp).. then go for inquisition and hope aurawarp is still on for most of the time up until inquisition.
I don't know. but it just seems like i'm spending 17 (+10 more for wrath!) power on alot of maybes here.

HallowedPresence accomplishes the same thing, no? (Honest question. Haven't had a Celestine since HolyLight went in.)

It still costs power to use hallowedpresence as far as I know. the holy light cost is extra. and also having an offensive tactic that uses holylight in it would mean that there would be times where i'm simply unable to use this combo unless i manage to gather more holylight (not the easiest thing to do)

absolutely useless for celestines, that ability is made for paladins

Or the Celestine who needs more light and can't die to anything ever and thus can afford to burn time symbol striking to build up power, looks like.

Even if that was possible. which is a stretch. I'm still fairly certain that hallowedpresence costs power. so gathering holylight to use it does not change the fact that i have to spend power
Razenth2010-09-23 02:50:19
The problem isn't tanking, Xavius. The problem is taking advantage of inquisition once you lay it down. Inquisition by itself is 10 power wasted if you don't follow through with it.
I think a lot of people throw out these wonderful abilities and forget that they do you absolutely no good if it doesn't move you closer to your kill state. Take Aeon in Tarot, or Wrath in Celestialism. Rawr! I'm going to barrage you with my deadly Aeon+Anorexia+Stupidity combo and also pray for a Hangedman! Well so what? Do you have a Soulless prepped? Is their mana already dangerously close to the halfway mark? If no, then why are you doing this combo in the first place?
Or how about Inquisition? Inquisition someone! (wait 4s for eq) Oh noez, no power to absolve/quicken/aurawarp! I better symbol strike to regen! (wait another 4s) Still no power, do it again! (wait another 4s) Oh hey, they're out of inquisition and sipping mana and eating sparkle and reading scroll and moving away and basically ignoring me so they can redef.... yay?

EDIT: nevermind. i realize what you meant
Razenth2010-09-23 02:56:54
You're reading it wrong. Symbol strike can be replaced with anything that you use to use up your eq just so you won't be on eq.
Shaddus2010-09-23 02:58:44
what shamarah said.
also, are you waiting for the second opening on heretic/infidel, or going for the first? and what is hallowedground doing for you thats worth three power?

I can field that one.
HallowedGround increases damage output, which furthers the damage kill that she could be building towards (and should be properly testing with her damage skill rather than complaining that symbol strike, the worst PvP attack in the game, doesn't deal much PvP damage ).
PS: What's your race, Calina?

Human. no advantages or disadvantages. good stats though (18 int, which helps for damage.. although i guess not enough)
