I feel like mugwump, maggot, and krokani are under-represented.

Well, since I was finally thinking about it and decided to bring it up, could Storm Trill get looked at to get min-max'd a bit more? I know Trill are supposed to be more of an influencing race, but when they get the warrior spec they only get base human charisma.
You can already fly! Come now.

Wow, mugwump is -really- underplayed. Not surprised to see taurian so low either.
I don't think there's anything wrong with taurians, personally. Just that their racial traits are hindered by their lack of population in the first place.

Any chance we can get a breakdown of how those races that are specced do?

I think it'd be pretty fair to say that approximately 75% of the people who play races with specializations belong to their respective orgs. Unless you're curious about faelings which are probably spread all across the board.
Sidd2010-10-28 04:53:45
I feel that faeling might be a bit skewed due to constant domoth blessings the past year
Unknown2010-10-28 04:54:13
Cause faelings have been pretty much perma-domothed for the past year and a half, making them pretty swell even if unspecced.

I'm curious about that too. There are more Faelings than there are members of Glomdoring, percentage-wise, and a large segment of Glom is not Faeling. I can only imagine that all the Domoth blessings Faelings have had so long are making the base race attractive, even unspecced.
It is telling that even with that, and humans having almost no Domoth blessings in that time, that Humans are still more plentiful.

The utter lack of taurian makes me sad. It's really not all that bad, aside from missing those cha points I'd have as a human (and the damned exp boost that never goes away... I don't think anyone gives that enough credit for how attractive it is). Guess I'll be sticking to one race for a while again.
Unknown2010-10-28 05:02:44
I'd like to reincarnate to immortal please.
Also, buff maggots.
On a more serious note: Despite whatever had been said about how kephera is a strong race, I find it interesting that there aren't that many of them active.
Also, oddly enough, there seems to be a large number of trills, which seems disproportionate to the complains that they get. Is it the specialization which made such a difference?

Well, personally I stay a Trill because my character has always been a Trill and is pretty sure he is, in fact, a Trill.
Also, being Hallifaxian, well.

This is just my opinion, but I think that Lusternia is so oriented around group combat that any bunch of taurian raging in a room will be more of a burden than a help. Especially considering they aren't even a spec'd race with their own organization, this cripples their numbers even more.

Hrm, how long does it take for someone to get to vote weight 5? Would that duration alter/affect anything?

I would venture to guess that this is related to the gender differences. It is swell for RP, but inconvenient for people who don't want to invest in changing from male to female or female to male so they fit their guild appropriately.

The lack of kephera is probably due to aesthetic taste, not because they're no good.
In a similar vain, trill are a 'pretty' race and Hallifax just came out. For Sentinels it's either be an adamant lucidian(which there is currently..only one of I think) or a storm trill.

It's active enough to clear out most casual alts, which is fine since the most important group will be the ones with the most active characters. Every other nekotai novice is an illithoid, if not a much greater percent than that, but you wouldn't be able to guess that from looking at these numbers. Whether that's in any way meaningful is debatable.
Unknown2010-10-28 05:16:02
Hrm I totaled up the vote weights for the entire Basin: 8673
The list Sior posted mentioned that total number of people: 314
When you divide the total vote weight by the total number of people: 27.62101910828025
So, the average vote weight for the Basin is 27?
Or does the total vote weight account for those who are below vote weight 5 as well?

This may be minor, but if I'm not mistaken, there are things in the Hallifax Nexus World that require flight to reach. And since no guild skills in Hallifax grant flight...

Well, let's do a comparison between Elfen Lord and Storm Trill.
Elfen Lord:
11 Strength
14 Dexterity
11 Constitution
15 Intelligence
15 Charisma
11 Size
Elfen Have a racial language.
level 1 Regenerate health and mana while in forest environments.
level 1 Resistance to psychic damage.
level 1 Faster herb balance
For Stag and Moon Totem Only: Upon gaining the Wicca specialization or Druidry specialization, an elfen becomes a High Elfen with statistics changing by -1 strength, -2 dexterity and +2 intelligence. Elfen who choose the warrior class in communes, upon gaining a totem specialization become an Elfen Lord with statistics changing by -2 intelligence, -3 charisma, +4 strength, +3 constitution, +2 dexterity and +2 size.
Storm Trill:
12 Strength
14 Dexterity
11 Constitution
14 Intelligence
15 Charisma
10 Size
Can fly.
level 2 Regenerate health and mana while flying.
level 3 Resistance to cold.
level 2 Resistance to electricity.
level 2 Resistance to psychic damage.
level 2 Advanced seduction influence.
Special for Trill in Hallifax: Upon gaining the Aeromancy or Harmonics specialization a Trill becomes a Cloud Trill with statistics changing by -2 strength, -1 dexterity, +2 intelligence, and +1 charisma. If a warrior, upon gaining the Aeonics specialization, becomes a Storm Trill with statistics changing by +3 strength, +2 constitution, -2 intelligence and -3 charisma.
level 1 Susceptible to fire.
We notice that elfen also has 15 CHA, and loses the same amount including intelligence. Trill already have an extra point in STR to keep up with the EL's +4, and to top it off they have a fair advantage in terms of racial traits. They also have a seduction influence boost which the poor EL doesn't. Although you could say that some of those resists aren't very useful when it comes to org politics. Psychic damage is a fairly common damage type from mobs, however.
So with those things in mind, what is it you'd like to see changed that seems fair?
Edit: Let me just say that I also think trill spec is fine the way it is. If anything were to be changed, it'd be pretty minor. There are other races that need the attention more.
