New Nexus Client

Whomever authorized and coded the revamped nexus should be applauded. I'm going to assume Sior had a significant something to do with this, correct me if wrong.

The folders to the right make the interface so much easier to deal with. In particular I the map folder is very very useful and will be a boon to newbies.

Having said that one of the barriers to combat (prep time) I noted earlier could be easily dealt with by this system

Would it be possible/feasible to code a server side application that could audit a character for combat readiness and automate the refilling process in shops?

For Example:

Kaalak wants 20 healing vials, 20 mana vials, 2 quicksilver vials, 2 phlegmatic vials, 100 pennyroyal in the rift, etc.

The application would tell you how many vials/herbs are missing. When the character uses 'wares' in a shop the application automatically determines if the desired kegs are available in the shop, the gold cost for the desired number of refills, if the player has the appropriate number of vials, etc, and then refill them on command.

Thanks in advance.

If the nexus client had a folder on the right hand side for MAGICLIST, POTIONLIST, and AUDIT commands then these would make inventory management for combat significantly easier.

Also, a dream (but not expected) would be a folder that included all the designs for your tradeskills, with comm requirements.

Nice improvement.

I have one major complaint, in that it completely in validates at least one illuminati skill

I think I've mentioned in like three topics already that I really like it. Would it be at all possible to add a SHIP channel to those nifty chat logs?

Doesn't seem to be working on my Mac (Firefox or Safari). Kills each of them, Java's up to date as far as I can tell. So, so far, not a fan sad.gif

EDIT: Also, beneath it under the 'optional clients' (when 'small' is set to 1), could we get, say, clients lots of Lusternians actually use, like MUSHClient and Mudlet, instead of Fmud, which only a few Lusternians use?

Yes, please do not break everyone's browser width.

On topic: wow, I heard "nexus upgrade" from Alianna and expected some horrible cancerous interface change that destroyed everything but this actually looks really useful and positive, props!

Nice optimism you have there.

lol nexus kills ribbachi being feasible because you don't need to remember to IH now and then... it does it for you.
Arix2010-10-15 05:37:19
like I said, new client renders ribbachi largely unusable
Gregori2010-10-15 05:53:15
what I want to know is if that IH code is something transmitted via the new GMCP(sp?) stuff making it something that everyone can eventually have in their system and making ribbachi universally useless, or any 'cloaked' mutt/familiar/fae/etc for that matter.

If it does couldn't they do something like with blackout? Data still used to be sent during blackout and you could use that to get around it, now you can't.
Arix2010-10-15 06:22:30
will there be plugins for the new client?
Kiradawea2010-10-15 06:33:35
Don't worry. There's so much spam at the Matrix that you need to scroll down to see anything. And people have become suitably paranoid that Ribbachi is suitably useless anyway. tongue.gif

Anyway, is there a way to close that list-thing? I find it highly distracting to look at.

This in no way, shape or form make Nexus any better. It's still as buggy as hell afaik.

Does this mean chamealon'd beasts, or just that commune stuff/retrievers?

Since I saw this hadn't been answered yet... Yes, this is sent via GMCP. In fact, I'd assume everything the new Nexus does has to do with GMCP and not any cloaked commands. I can't seem to get the new Nexus working though, for some reason sad.gif Says I don't have Java in FF.
Unknown2010-10-15 16:08:01
What's that? I'm too twitchy to wait until waking up to check my inventory or skills? But I can't do that while asleep.

With the new client I can! Wheeeeee!

That was exciting.
Mirami2010-10-18 06:11:05
Is the old nexus still online somewhere? I'd like to be able to keep playing on a certain computer of mine that has issues with other clients, and the new nexus stops loading at 84% sad.gif
Arix2010-10-18 06:25:34
I have a problem with how everytime I try to scroll the client window, it scrolls the whole page instead
Arix2010-10-19 01:14:13
Also, why did my screen go from white to grey, and can I change it?
