..except they don't remove eq on secrets

Spectacles of Seeing (a pair of thin spectacles): 400 credits
- Always succeed in seeing secret exits
- Allows you to glance and observe in a room with no equilibrium loss.

Pretty sure they were modified to remove EQ on Secrets when Secrets was made 100%. Even if the file wasn't updated. Since secrets is 100% now, that would be a pretty silly artifact addition!

Secrets sure isn't useless now, I do use it sometimes when I want to be 100% sure there is not a secret exit in a room.
Ixion2011-06-09 17:33:16
Hope so, because 400cr for what's listed is crap given the change to 100% secrets.

Just tested. You still have an equilibrium loss when using Secrets with the spectacles.
Unknown2011-06-09 22:47:15
Secrets isn't 100%. (I'm not trans though.)

The only real use for those specs is to avoid losing equilibrium when you look for secrets because of stupidity.

They do that now? That makes them slightly more useful then.

Secrets scales with skill in Environment, so it doesn't start out 100%, it's only 100% at trans.

Which makes it utterly worthless until the day you need to see an exit before you can use it.

Bearable is the pain of the rose as it pricks my finger, and yet my

First mortal curio completed I know of! (Big rave to Meyla!)

Congratulations! A black-forged iron cross is a completed curio!

Black-forged metal caked with unmentionable substances forms this tall, x-shaped cross. Worked with images of twining demonic figures and wide-gaping skulls, the iron is thickly-worked and almost crude; smaller details reveal more subtle designs of blasphemous script and tales of horrific deeds lost to the mists of time. Sharp spikes, caked with blood, remain pegged to each limb as a testament to the true use of this piece. An aura of dread and pain clings to the metal, permeating the air with reminders of the agonies suffered upon the cross.
It weighs about 9 pounds.
It bears the distinctive mark of Supreme Commander Kalas Ixion, The Devouring Blade.

You drop a black-forged iron cross.
A black-forged iron cross plants itself into the ground, limbs sinking deep and spreading thick shadows around its base.

You pet a black-forged iron cross ingratiatingly.
A black-forged iron cross shudders. A single slitted eye opens, gazing out at you for a long moment before closing once more into the iron.

You pet a black-forged iron cross ingratiatingly.
A black-forged iron cross shudders and shakes. A scream rises from the depths of the metal as it warps, a skeletal arm reaching out and waving about blindly before the cross sucks it back in.

You pet a black-forged iron cross ingratiatingly.
A black-forged iron cross erupts with grasping arms and howls of agony as it attempts to catch hold of you.

Rising in an imposing mass of black iron, an iron cross stands here, radiating a miasma of dread and pain.

You reach out and touch a black-forged iron cross.
Blood begins to run down the surface of the cross, bringing to life a welter of howling fiends and imps. At the centre, a slitted, demonic pupil opens, gazing with malevolent intent.

The cross unfolds further, exposing broad limbs studded with skeletal remains of previous victims. Yawning skeletons struggle within the grasp of the device, fighting fruitlessly to free themselves from thrall.

The cross stills and becomes solid abruptly, the victims dragged back inside by the vile forces within.

Alas, i don't think it was the first!

Should note that the Iron Cross is meant to stick in your manse (if you want). Also, it should do a number of random things when you touch it. Some of the other curios form manikin-type objects that will follow you around (if you want). We will probably be adding more this week!

Would it be possible to anchor them in a guildhall, giving the GA the power to unanchor? Some of them are really appropriate to specific guilds, and it would make a nice group project for them, I bet!
