It's mostly for newbie interaction but there's other things, you'll find all the commands in your GUILD PRIVS.

Your ledger has the following exciting abilities:
-Locating guild newbies
-Summoning guild newbies power-free
-Teleporting to guild newbies power-free
-Giving a list of guild possessions (clans/manses)
-Moving around ownership of guild possessions
-Listing members of the guild, including their race, level, position(s), and lastlogin

It's not much, alas. But I suppose it's something.

One thing that's not readily apparent, GUILD LEDGER MEMBERS can show you everyone who is logged in, even if they're off plane, but it won't tell you where they are. So if someone's hiding in a manse, you can totally still bother them.

Summoning stuck novices out of village statues for free sound nifty! Teleporting to them to help them out sounds awesome too!

Cool. Sure it may not be flashy, but that seems perfect for the job. So here's to doing a good job, even if Arath the character is the last guy I'd want teaching my kids.

The downside to the guild newbies thing is that it stops working upon graduation from formal novicehood, i.e. upon becoming officially GR1, which happens only too quickly. But you've got to cut it off somewhere, I imagine.

That's a bit low though. You'd think it'd last at least until GR 2.

Being the combat newb that I am, this spar win was amazing. After a few minutes of nothing working, I am so glad I was finally able to do something to kill her.

I could go about learning the TBC quest, you know, just to spite some people...
