It's not so much that you need to be a Skyplume or a Shevat to reach Alderman. It's more that they're the two most active families in Hallifax, so if you're constantly around and productive, you'll probably end up in one of the two.
But as Daraius said, it's pretty much just me who can bring people in these days. I mean, one of the other three active and family members could get hitched or somethin', but I don't dig on mass-adoptions or forcing people to expand the family. Which may be one of the reasons we're pretty much dead.

Meant it as a response to that.

You wound me.
I'm productive, I'm just not on that character all that often anymore.

Embrace your inner troll, Elostian. One of us.
As for a rave! I finally stopped being a huge baby and approached someone awesome about adoption! And I got to have more fun "so dysfunctional that it loops back around on itself and becomes successful" marriage RP. Very few people would be able to work out being married to Phoebus, but I got lucky and found someone who tolerates her BS.

My rave is for Ixion, for letting me complete my quest when I was sooo sure he wouldn't.

Squee! Lord Lyreth and Tully!
Now, to save up for those shiny weapons...dang you rapiers, why you gotta be so much

I'd like to see their stats before I'd consider buying them. Jeez, I thought Richter had Lyreth's own weapons for sale!
Rivius2010-12-01 02:11:36
Wooo. Free arti in December >:)
Shulamit2010-12-01 02:14:50
You can weaponprobe the rapiers! I dun know what the stats mean so well though, so.

Rapiers should always have 280 speed. Hunting rapiers should thereafter have a higher damage then precision.

Disclaimer: May or may not require you to marry into Skyplume and/or Shevat.
You think that helps? It took me twenty IG years, five scrolls, two plays, and designs.
EDIT: Which is all rather anticlimactic when you consider I was elected shortly after.
Ileein2010-12-01 04:20:27
Nah, getting CR6 the old-fashioned way is much more rewarding.

I got mine from GM, it was kind of lackluster.

I've got mine from GM, champion and marrying the city leader, GM again, and other crap. And GM is much more satsifying.

Heh, I think you'd be better of just getting your own rapiers Shulamit, then customizing them and adding a weapon rune. I think 1.2 mgp is a lot to pay for a weapon.
Shulamit2010-12-01 12:29:23
I couldn't even use them anyways. Why would I need the weapon rune though? Customization includes reset, eh? I thought...

Customization does not include reset. You can customize something and have it stolen.
Non-decay includes reset, and you cannot make forged items non-decay except with a rune.
It's an awful shame to spend 50cr on something that coule / Raziela / etc. can knock out of your hands and subsequently disappear forever.
Unknown2010-12-01 12:32:35
Weapon Rune so it wouldn't decay.
It's too bad there's no system where family can inherit old weapons, maybe by placing a cost. It would be nice if a family could have an artifact that could either be handed down to the next generation or kept in a vault until a worthy person was found.

Esano2010-12-01 12:44:51
You can remove the weapon rune then have the 'inheritor' place their own rune on it, causing it to switch to them.

Why can you do that with weapons but not with other items?
