If you Institute folks could get me what it looks like for every crystalweapon's attack/kill messages, you'd make me quite a happy camper.

EDIT: Here are the ones I've gotten so far:

QUOTE
Scalpel:

Wuylinfe points a beryl domothean scalpel at a rotund piebald pigeon, which shoots out a tiny beam of white light that burns a perfectly symmetrical hole neatly in his torso.
You watch in amazement as several internal organs slide out of the newly opened hole in a rotund piebald pigeon's torso.
A rotund piebald pigeon has been slain by Wuylinfe.

Blaster:

Saran points an emerald void blaster at a small baby pigeon, shooting a sphere of pitch-black matter into him which detonates in a silent explosion that causes chunks of flesh to simply disappear.
A small baby pigeon dies horribly as the black matter hollows out his insides and his corpse slumps to the ground like a deflated balloon.
A small baby pigeon has been slain by Saran.

Amplifier:

Shulamit points a beryl aetheric amplifier at an enormous black pigeon, which lets loose a cloud of sparkling motes that envelops him, scouring his flesh with tiny pinpick bursts of energy.
An enormous black pigeon screams in agony, as the sparkling energies tear him apart from the inside out.
An enormous black pigeon has been slain by Shulamit.

I'm assuming the wand is going to be the same, so I still need to see the modulator and resonator. Please to give? dazed.gif

Rave: Oh my god homunculi are delightfully creepy. I can't wait to get on tonight and test the skill out.
Daraius2010-12-05 23:35:14
Fix dangling modifiers plz.

The resonator:

QUOTE
Prav points an emerald temporal resonator at Morbo, shining a cone of grey light upon him. Morbo cries out as parts of his flesh becomes unnaturally young while other parts age and wrinkle.

QUOTE
You point a bloodstone dimensional modulator at a small baby pigeon, and a small rift opens up over his head. Sizzling blue energy leaps out of the rift and fries A small baby pigeon.
A high pitched whine whistles through the dimensional rift just as the final crack of energy envelops a small baby pigeon's body, leaving nothing behind but a lifeless husk.
You have slain a small baby pigeon.

QUOTE
Renthur turns up a dial on an emerald void blaster and points it at a grey pigeon, shooting an enormous pulsating sphere of pitch-black matter at him which breaks apart into smaller spheres, each detonating in a silent explosion that causes chunks of his flesh to simply disappear.
A grey pigeon dies horribly as the black matter hollows out his insides and his corpse slumps to the ground like a deflated balloon.
A grey pigeon has been slain by Renthur.

That is the discharge attack. It's special skill.
Ileein2010-12-06 00:17:56
O_O The discharge can be done on denizens.

My rave: All the descs and attacks of the new weapons that I could find:

Internal momentum and mass redistributers have been attached to the sides and end of this curious emerald instrument, allowing it to be held comfortably in one hand despite its rather massive size. A single handle with a button under the index finger has been placed under the central body of this blaster which elongates and gives way to three slender crystal rails. The emerald rails extend from the far end of the blaster to create a sort of triangular barrel between which small discharges of energy arc at irregular intervals. In the central body of this instrument, a large phase prism pulses with an unnerving darkness, seeming to hold the very essence of the Void itself. A good number of smaller crystals and conduits run along the side of the blaster, combined with several small displays, buttons and dials. From time to time, a small discharge of Void energy arcs from within the phase crystal towards the barrel, leaving no doubt that this instrument has primarily been designed as a weapon.

You look at an emerald temporal resonator that Prav is wielding:
Consisting of a strange combination of rings and straps, this temporal resonator has been designed to be attached snugly to the wrist and fingers like a complex emerald glove. On the back of the resonator, a strange emerald sticks out at the length of about a foot, splitting in two and vibrating violently as it gives off waves of temporal energy. At the base of the resonator, a small emerald screen displays vital information in a clear and concise way so that the temporal scientist can easily adjust the settings of the resonator in response to them.

You look at an amethyst aetheric amplifier that Morbo is wielding:
Crafted entirely from amethyst, this aetheric amplifier appears more like a work of art then an instrument of science. A long base with a comfortable handle shifts in elegantly twirling curls to end in a large receiver dish with a transmitter at its centre, the entirety sparkling dazzlingly with the energies running through it. Strange little blips emanate from the far end of the amplifier, a clear sign of the underlying processes at work. Several buttons and dials are attached to the other end of the amplifier, allowing the aetheric scientist to adjust the various setting of this beautiful instrument.
Morbo points an amethyst aetheric amplifier at you, which lets loose a cloud of sparkling motes that envelops you, scouring your flesh with tiny pinpick bursts of energy.

Constructed around a central handle, this emerald modulator is a very curious and complicated planar instrument. Several small screens display a variety of information to the wielder concerning the stability and configuration of the planes in the current location, as well as the options of alteration. Less easily noticed is a collection of dials and levers which may be manipulated with the wielder's thumb to provide information and commands to the three antennae which protrude from the front, small discharges of planar energy arcing between their slender emerald shapes.
You point an emerald dimensional modulator at Renthur, and a small rift opens up over his head. Sizzling blue energy leaps out of the rift and fries Renthur.

Wuylinfe proudly shows off a beryl domothean scalpel:
A slender beryl handle makes up the bulk of this rather uncomplicated scalpel, making this instrument by far the simplest in appearance of the harmonic instruments. In contrast to the simple handle, the blade which has been affixed to the top appears to have been crafted from pure silver-coloured light that shimmers and vibrates with barely-contained energy. Apparently fashioned from pure domothean energy, the blade seems capable of function far beyond simple cutting and slicing, though its precise abilities remain unclear from a close inspection.
Wuylinfe points a beryl domothean scalpel at you, which shoots out a tiny beam of white light that burns a perfectly symmetrical hole neatly in your torso.

I very much like...

I wub.gif the homunculus!

With a torso the size of a child's and arms and legs of a comparable size, the homunculus' emaciated, naked form offers a stark contrast to the parts of his body associated with the five senses. Remarkably resembling a deformed human, this squat homunculus gazes about with a wide-eyed, attentive stare. Abnormally thick eyebrow ridges loom over his ocular cavities, themselves dwarfed in size by an unusually large, wide-nostrilled nose, set above a massive pair of lips, pressed together as if the creation were caught up in thought. Great ears rise out from his hairless head, while exaggerated hands with broad palms and massive digits are held off awkwardly at his sides, their girth wider than his legs are tall. Upon closer inspection of the facial features, the creature bears an unsettling likeness to Caerulo. He is called 'Curhurlo.'
A homunculus resembling a deformed human looks weak and feeble.
He weighs about 104 pounds.
He is loyal to Archprelate Caerulo, of the Shrouded Mysteries.

A homunculus resembling a deformed human says, "Hur hur."

Yes! Isn't that amazing! If it had been upside down, that would have been absolutely hilarious.

Separate but just as rave-worthy: The ebony wakabi hatched after just one egg! Oh a huge huge thank you to the quest designer for not griefing me! wub.gif wub.gif wub.gif

Homunculus? That's going to be a problem with Viravain wrath mobs.

Viravain's being homunculi was always really weird anyway. Maybe there was something that made it make sense in the longdesc.

Only vaguely.

I think that's something only Talan or a few inactive ex-Heads might be privy to, but she had a homunculus in her temple before the god realms existed. Or before she had the invasion mobs, I think.

I think it's a reference to her being a creator goddess. Her homunculi are plants anyway...not fleshy ones.
