What Hallifax needs to do now is write a proper medical report and analysis. Let me point you in the direction of the infamous Study on Minoris Somgina, a prestige winning scholarly piece detailing the scourge that once plagued Magnagora.
Pity we can't quite share the real details of that particular trollish inside joke

It's collectivism folks. Even without the hippocratic oath, you'd be duty bound to take care of Phoebus. Because she's part of the collective and needs help.
The resources necessary to save Phoebus would take them away from the collective's higher goal, obviously her death would be a sad but allowable one.

The Halloween event is cool, even if it's annoying to have the ghosties running around.

Level 99 to 100.
Yes, I am fully aware it is so much easier these days, but still. I have been at it for -days- and am still only half way into 99.
Also, more powers at 99, please.

What higher goal? Hallifax has a hospital. It treats ill folks. It studies diseases for the purpose of curing them when they infect citizens. It is very much in the nature of "the most scientifically advanced nation in the basin" to aspire to create a cure for a disease.
Elostian2010-10-31 15:47:35
But is it the cure or the cured that is the purpose?

this is a ooc ideal you are clinging to, in societies driven by knowledge with no regard for ethics (or at least ethics as we know them in the real world) it is perfectly accepteable to sacrifice a life in exchange for gaining such knowledge. In fact some of the greatest advances in medical science in the real world were made by questionable experiments and actions in name of the greater good.
In Hallifax people can go either way, wanting to see the end result, or finding the cure.
Though these discussions should really be held icly *sagenod*

None of those statements to counter to my statement.

But since it's the Archmage, she should obviously find a subordinate Aeromancer to contract the illness from her so we can cure Phoebus and watch the terminal stages on the new subject.
Joking aside, it isn't "Knowledge for the sake of Knowledge," it's "Knowledge for the sake of the Collective." Letting part of the Collective die does not help the Collective.

except some consider the current archmage to be only a bureaucrat
there are many reasons why letting a disease run its course can be beneficial to the collective. Though if you want to find those out you'll have to take it up in game.

Hallifax doesn't have a hippocratic oath, more like an optional Hippocratic suggestion.
It starts:
First, do no harm... to the Higher Castes.

Keep in mind also that death isn't always (and, in fact, is rarely) a permanent thing in Lusternia for adventurers. Unpleasant and to be avoided, certainly, but not permanent.

...days?
Back in the days of astral, aetherbubble (+25% construct bonus exp), and undervault, hunting about 10 hours a day, I figured a minimum time of six four-day weeks. A good day made about 5%.
I knew today kids had it easy but I had no idea just how easy they had it now.

That's completely uncalled for!!
You wouldn't use an Aeromancer, you'd use one of the orphans at the Commissariat for Offspring Temporary Management. Phoebus has even said IC (more or less): "You wanna test this more, go ahead, just not on me, I've had enough. Find a servant or something."
