There is an exception for cute frog people. I don't make the laws, I just enforce them.
(I don't enforce the laws, either.)

Unrelated: Hope you don't mind that I'm totally mimicking your signature now.

Lots of people seem to think I (and as an extension the other elder-ish Shevats) don't like them. It's not true! I like most people at least slightly!

There seems to be a bunch of people in Hallifax (not you personally) who think they're contractually obliged be frosty on the outside and cuddly on the inside or something.

It's a metaphor for Hallifax as a whole. It's pretty cold up there and there's frost everywhere, but when you get toward the middle, you can bask in the soothing glow of the Primary Generator.
And maybe if you bask long enough, you'll grow extra limbs to ease your experiments. ... I'm not really sure how that fits into the metaphor.

I think Hallifaxans are crazier than Gaudiguchans.

Hallifaxians are crazy in the cold logical "Let us see how long the human lasts without his skin" way. Their goals are to learn. Not that their subject lives or dies.
Gaudiguch is more in it for the amusement. Short term amusement, not Fain-Grade masterminded "Everything you've done for the past four years was to my benefit" amusement (which is oh so delicious). Similar to "I just pushed you down the stairs. hahaha...I'm bored now."
The only sane people are Richter, Jigan, and most of the Paladins and Serenguard.

I wish I wasn't usually asleep/moving things when all of this happiness occurs!

Amid all the Hallifax raves, I'd like to add my own rave for Ushaara being such a friendly, helpful, and attentive Trademaster. Considering he can't be around very much, I'm doubly grateful that he's willing to spend part of his time in-game taking my ridiculously verbose designs, offering suggestions, and submitting them. Thank you!
Ileein2011-01-14 00:54:29
Ahahaha this painting. Daraius.
Shulamit2011-01-14 01:07:19
Squee, my paintings are displayed in Hallifax! Squee! Though, I have to think that the two artists who's studios two of the paintings are in are....likely not pleased someone elses works are displayed on their walls.
Daraius2011-01-14 01:14:20
They're just apprentices. Arel told me I'd have to get permission from the other families to display work in their galleries, so I figured I could, uh... exercise my ministerial authority and put them up in the Shevat gallery.
Shulamit2011-01-14 01:21:42
Oh, okie. As long as they're just apprentices... Heeh

I'm frosty on the outside and gleefully psychopathic on the inside. We coo'?

A rave for Shuyin. Rarely is being jumped so pleasant or amusing.
