Hunting as a Researcher with 3 auto-blocking abilities and passive healing effects is awesome. Makes me wonder how much scarier I could be if I was a tanky race.

(but oh god the xp grind is horrible still =S)

Three auto-blocking abilities? Which ones? All I can think of is Diamond. Beastmastery isn't researcher specific.

No. Nymph trivializes things that aren't aggro and don't hit like a truck, but otherwise does nothing, and things like Astral and Catacombs and Muud are aggro.

Having firsthand experience with both, admittedly not a huge amount, I'd say nymph and diamond save one from an attack while hunting about the same amount of the time. (At least for non-aggressive things. I guess if you only hunt in places where that skill won't help you, sure, it doesn't count. As a trill researcher, I think I'd need to be at least a demigod to even go to astral, let alone hunt there.)

Oh trill researcher hunting is feasible at level 90 ... with RoA and bodyguard, and knowing how to use alacrity and quickening and how to link. Granted I can't hunt as fast but it feels sooo good offering up 40 virgins at the end of the day (about average haul from solo hunting to neurotic)
