I really really really really really really really really hate Hallifax quests. This had better be a mind-blowing world-shattering paradigm-shifting prophecy, because I'm doing this hours-long grind with my refrigerator making vuvuzela noises behind me and giving me a massive migraine.

If it's anything like the other one, don't hold your breath.

Do de do de doooo. Happy time in Celest...Let's walk around. But wait! Where is my turtle?

You put your fingers in your mouth and let out a high-pitched whistle, then hope for the best.
A ruby dragon turtle with crimson wings trots in with head high.

You easily vault onto the back of a ruby dragon turtle with crimson wings.

As thunder booms across the sky to the east, a great wall of white-frothed water rushes up from the
Inner Sea. Towering impossibly above as it approaches the eastern extent of New Celest, the tidal
wave looms ominously before crashing down, smashing across towers and buildings as the storm-tossed
waters surge through the streets.
You lose purchase on a ruby dragon turtle with crimson wings.

RAAAAAAAGE!

Casilu has been dragged screaming into the dark by a towering, surreal jester.

I need to stop playing Lusty so late in the night. It messes with my mind.

What is it with events bringing out the worst in everyone?

(Yes, even me.)

The urge to be on the Events news post.

I'm not sure it entirely has to do with that. Eventually the 'honour' of being in the posts fades a bit.

To me, I often see a lot of unnatural 'buddy buddy hey we are all friends now' which I like to try and break up a little bit. Essentially, just because something big is happening does not mean all past issues are forgotten and forgiven. All organizations are meant to have their own part to play and their own path to pursue, to an extent, and should not immediately fall into the arms of their 'foes' whispering that all is forgiven. This is how things often go even in the Real World (schisms and politicking often still trump Dire Events).

Beyond that, I've noticed that the degree of cooperation and willingness to assist others depends largely upon attitude. If the first reaction is an actual an honest desire to get to the bottom of the matter and work together, that's much more likely to net a positive result. If the first reaction is to try to spy and send in dreambodies on your supposed 'allies' instead of, y'know, talking with them... they're more likely to have a negative reaction and be less willing to work with you.

I've found that it really is pretty much entirely about attitude in the end, and whether you are interested in enjoying the event (without discarding your character's or organization's ideals), or if you are interested in controlling the event (in which case you start to get the friction described in the post). I personally prefer taking the path of enjoying it; as you may have noticed I'm a bit of an event hound to put it politely. At the same time, I'm not willing to just get shoved to the side completely by giving up everything I know / have worked for and getting nothing in return.

There's also a bit of frustration when you've worked for hours only to have someone else swoop in and do The Key Thing/get The Key Information/talk to The Key Denizen. I know that frustration's been very present in this event.

Yeah. I spent over 11 hours straight doing the Undervault stuff for Ptoma/Ixthiaxia, mostly all by myself, and I didn't even get an honorable mention.

Plus, things killing people, gales tossing us about, and fires springing up reliably every ten minutes... it tends to get old after a few days of it.

Replace "a few" with "8" please.

Huh, another week of this? Why? Today is Sunday so I thought it'd end before the weekend at least.
