The fires would be much more fun if they were, you know, massive forest fires. And much less frequent. It would give people something to do. Having one room set on fire just means that whoever finds it first puts it out, and every else wasted their time for nothing. What about spreading out over a specific area, like a demesne, but you could see the smoke if you were at the Ravenwood/Moonhart coming from a general direction?
So, like, one area of the forest (could see entire area on map) was ablaze, let's say it was to the east of the Ravenwood, you would see smoke waft over the forest to the southeast?

For the finding a fire thing, I think the MAP should just turn a room that is on fire red. Code's probably not set up to be that dynamic with the mapping, though.
EDIT: Or an Environment skill. Can't hurt to make that more useful whenever we can.

Tried designing a mask for the city contest and gave up halfway through, but after that I hammered out a mini-ritual for the guild. Let's just hope this event lasts so I can actually do it.

I was all excited about my work bonus and was trying to figure out what to rune my gauntlets with so I can customise them instead of saving it for my vacation... I then realized none of the runes make sense of an Illuminati.... Great Rune of Esoteric Authority... nope.. bashing attack is str based... cant put weapons runes... WTH am I supposed to rune them with

Rune of Shielding should work for people with shield-runed gauntlets.
Gripping is just useless in that situation I imagine, though.
