2 hours and 49 minutes is barely "a bit" over two hours. Glomdoring did start off a bit better, but after a couple of rounds, I'm pretty sure Serenwilde were ahead, at least when it came to who had more villagers.

I'm pretty sure they changed how revolts worked, because they said contested revolts should take longer than they used to. I think it used to be that points were accumulated and once you got enough points over another org, you win. Now, it's just a percentage of the points available. If a villager is under the influence of one org, they get the points, but once they become laidback, those points are removed from the org's total.

... uhh. No.

It's cumulative totals. You get a bonus to points for certain actions (such as feelings). Once you're a certain amount up, you win. That amount needed lessens over time (or used to, it may not any more).

Winning one round doesn't win you the village, you have to win consistently. As has been shown in revolt after revolt. It would be absolutely stupid if it was just one round's worth of influencing that did it. tongue.gif

That's a perfectly valid way of parsing my sentence, I guess! Just be discreet when eyeballing Phoebus. She is married.

QUOTE (Announce 1538)
o There have been a few under-the-hood changes to reflect how villages
consider whom to follow, hopefully making villages more standard
(requiring an actual % of the villagers to be following you). This will
likely make village influencing rounds last somewhat longer when they
are in contention, however it is still possible to take a village in a
single round if you are uncontested and the village is, at least,
neutral towards you.
Xenthos2010-10-27 00:46:52
I would have to say it's not accurately explaining the situation, because that's not how it's working in practice; nor would it make villages take longer when someone gets in there early. Further, village feelings wouldn't provide anything in such a case.

Seriously, just read the last part of what you quoted. That should right there tell you that it's not simply percentage based and builds up over time. I will agree that the thing contradicts itself, though.

Otherwise it would be impossible to ever win a village if you had any negative feelings at all.

For the longest time my mental image was that Hallifax clothing is super conservative. But I guess, logically, a body is just a body. Maybe it isn't really a big concern for them. Or it's just a racial thing. Or a Lusternia thing.

More Lusternian things: Everyone goes around in capes and cloaks and such, no matter the weather and some of us don't bother to wear shoes. I am currently wearing ten rings, which is being prepared in Lusternia but absolutely gaudy in real life. I also can't wear a hairpin without removing all my clothes, but I could not be wearing clothes right now and no one would notice unless they LOOKed at me.
And I bet you people are going to check when I log in now. ninja.gif

I get annoyed I can't wear a kilt (or pants, I guess) under my robes. And I really wish weather mattered more than it does. I know in MKO I kept constant track of the temperature to know if it was cold enough for ice spikes, but I can't think of ways weather affect Lusternia, other than maybe Winter or if an area has a blizzard. Hmm... and I guess wind has an effect, though I imagine any area with strong winds is usually going to have strong winds.

You also can't squint in heavy snow! teach.gif That's all I know though.
Xiel2010-10-27 01:53:31
Thunderstorms to start random forest fires and hail and acid rain to randomly destroy/damage statues?! Sounds like a pain in terms of upkeep, though a functioning and interesting weather system wouldn't be bad.

Clearly heavy rains means an Aquameld is permanently deluged.

Edit: Ooh, or frostbite for traveling through snow without shoes/gloves. Yaaaay purpose for random design patterns deemed 'accessories'.

Hallifax is a city aesthetics, too. I've always imagined the city as being extremely beautiful, but extremely... Cold. I can't see why that wouldn't translate to the citizens - and just think of all the bright, beautiful plumage some trill may have. Nothing conservative about that, me thinks. smile.gif

Of course, that doesn't mean it isn't 'proper', in comparison to whatever the prostitutes down in Gaudiguch are wearing... quickexit.gif
Llesvelt2010-10-27 05:25:56
Well, I'd guess if you measure with Gaudiguch as a standard, everything would be very conservative in comparison.

Apart from those strange mysticists who bind themselves in vows of poverty and such, they mainly tend to go around in really dull robes I reckon. But meh.

My theory is that lucidians manage their body temperature by absorb sunlight during the daytime hours(observed in one of their racial abilities), making it easier to acclimate themselves to cold weather. As you said, trill have feathers to keep them nice and toasty also.

So, I can get away with a few risque fashion statements? Am I rite? female.gif

Raiding by yourself as a noob combatant, coupled with your target hitting for a big chunk of your health, add in low health and no useful dmp what so ever, and finally add in a monk is not fun.

Now I feel I should be asking this question: y so butthurt?
I knew I was gonna die most likely. There were geos around to warn, I don't know my way around the plane. I was only really hoping to maybe kill one before dying. And as I said, it was just me. If it had been others with me, it would have turned out differently. I was bored, and I'd never truly explored Earth, might as well try and get two things done. Hell I'm surprised they weren't waiting for me. I accidentally mis'd a question to Alacardael to a Seren. And yes I do have to really earn my enemyings. All of them so far have been for things that I haven't done due to being a noob combatant.

There's no indignation here, though. If you want to act indignant that Seren went out of their way to enemy you despite the fact you 'technically did not raid' (simultaneously pretending enemy statuses mean anything) then you really should drop the indignation, go out of your way and earn it and make them regret doing it in the first place. Preferably on your own without riding on the coattails of others.

Believe it or not, I'm actually trying not to be a trolling jerk here. This is encouragement.
