It's the bottom section that bothers me. I can bribe my way up, but if I take time to write two books, only one will count. Villages are unincentivized. Adding fifty-thousand power is only worth one city favour, etc. I'm holding my tongue to see how it plays out, but I suspect that tweaking will be very much required.

Yeah, that's really annoying, even in real life. I can go through the entire presentation thoroughly multiple times, do mock presentations, get other people to check it through, and yet I can always find typos and random floating bullet points only when I'm actually presenting.

How I've gotten city rank in each of the three orgs I've been in:
Do work and useful stuff. Regardless of whether or not its on a list for favours, regardless of whether or not anyone notices.
Keep doing useful stuff, for its own sake, because it helps your org.
Rank then comes at its own pace. If only because giving you it means you can often do even more useful stuff, but largely in simple recognition of doing work over time.
The last thing Gaudi should be doing is making a structured rank system, especially one that excludes other methods of gaining rank. If people don't want to do stuff, then making it harder for them to do so isn't going to fix the problem.

I had to choose between Hallifax and Lord Lyreth. Well, I would eventually, most likely. And being me, and the fact I had thought of leaving Hallifax before, I made my decision. I'm just hoping Hallifax will let sister keep her shop.
