The GMT thing isn't because of it being Britain so much as because that's where the prime meridian is, so it's the default baseline time for all time zones, and what all computers really work off of. (Which in turn comes out because of British history, but that's another story.)

The British words in designs thing is a legacy of Achaea that no one thought to get rid of early enough. If I had my druthers both the English and American spellings would be allowed.

That's pretty fun!

I shall also send 5k gold.

Hey, no need! The 5k gold was actually just our share from the treaty we have with Magnagora. That means for anyone else, it's free!

She made a mistake with the fine. Give it a rest, kids. tongue.gif

No, she's refusing to admit it and from what Amavan is telling me, is actually blaming him.

She admitted it, apologized for it, and offered to donate some gold herself over TMC. dry.gif

Okay, go tell Amavan that.

Meh, it's not a big deal. If the fine was a mistake, it was a mistake. Though it is kind of annoying when I hear that "They settled it" when initially that fact was quite strongly implied that wasn't being taken into consideration. But it's done, and no big deal. Rika is going off what she saw and what she heard from me. The complaints are largely my fault from an unclear situation and the fact that the fine was a mistake wasn't made clear. I think it's quite understandable for her to be annoyed in this case.

I am intrigued, continue.
yendos2011-01-27 20:56:28
Continue what? The entire situation is, Hyde kills me in Ptoma, after further talking to him he actually apologizes and things are settled between us. I mention this to Lilian and actually request he be unenemied or get a light fine. I am told in short "Hyde knows the law, he will have to pay the fine". Hyde then gets a light fine. I later hear that when the argued with about it, it was mentioned that "Hyde and Amavan settled it" or the like. I was miffed because my original request was not taken into consideration, Hyde was then given a light fine, and I was supposedly used as a defense when confronted about said light fine. It is possible that they actually considered my request and it just wasn't made clear, or that the fine was a mistake. But Rika heard my side of the story and was understandably upset. It is, however, my fault as I should not have complained in the first place, or made sure all my facts were straight.

tl;dr Rika is annoyed because of the way it was presented to her, it is largely my fault, sorry. The end.

La la la, long in to keep my instrument from decaying, prod people so I can update random shrines that keep popping up and keep projects current, and try and put on my puppy dog eyes and passive agressively try and guilt Sylandra to do something for me.... WHY IS THERE NO SYLANDRA IN MY ORDER!

(had a sense of Deja vu when I came to post)

Due to not being able to log in to Lusty much for the past few days, I've taken the time to read over stuff on the mudlet forums and I'm honestly blown away by how far the client has progressed. Though there are features tha had been forgotten, the many that have been implemented have made the client all the better and it continues to improve.
Looking over it all has also inspired me to completely redo all my scripts, so that will be my focus once I get the chance.

Also showed me how much of a coding newb I was, so embarrassing.

'Tis better to have loved and lost than have to deal with all this affinity and be stuck godless.

Theoretically, you could join the city of the God you want to follow. Even without affinity, following a god that wasn't from your city/commune was never a safe bet. The way org politics go, it's always safest to go with the god(s) in your org.
Shulamit2011-01-28 07:08:27
I'm pretty sure if I reply right now, it won't be pretty. So I'm going to change the topic.

To a question. Is there a calendar somewhere of when all the seal contests are/were?

I don't think I've ever actually been in an Order when I wasn't in the same city. (Isune may have been the exception, but that was like... a day. It doesn't count.)

But even without affinity, I'd know the risks and still probably go for it.

Quick edit: But yeah, I never foresee a god that will come into Hallifax that I would work well with. Kinda surprised I'm still in Hallifax, anyway.

I've been very excited to be a new demi and even more ecstatic about being one of Elostian's Avatars. Even though all the other demis have been complaining on forums that being a demi is actually lame and worse than it was previously, I was still like "Oh well, the new demi powers system is pretty cool, I'll enjoy it!" and I have until tonight. Until I realized that to even use one of my Avatar powers, I have to pay even more essence and use up 7 of my 50 weight (which has been used mostly for 2 stat boosts and the cosmetic powers that don't really do anything).

Now I'm just bitter and pissed.
