Some of my stories, I can't bear to re-read now, but there are a few that I like to read from time to time. Summer Cotillion and Twelve Months particularly (I'd link, but the new site's link to bardics is broken, and the old site doesn't work either).

It... really doesn't. One instance of it working in a group situation doesn't make it a viable kill.
Out of the four mage instas, it's the worse.
Chasm - timed
Cremate - need them at fourth degree burns
Cloudcoils - need them to have six coils, can spam the skill at no power cost until they have six
Preserve - requires the person to be fully frozen and at or below 50% health, and it cost power each use

The skill has had four reports for it, the most for any skill, and still sucks. Sure it could work in a group, but it'd be better to use other skills. 1v1 it is horrendous. We have the most requirements to pull off our insta, and top that off with our horrendous damage output, and the fact that only one effect in our demesne actually contributes to it, or helps in any meaningful way. If it actually worked, there'd be way more instances of it being used, but it's a crap kill, because the only way to even come close to being able to kill with it, you have to make use of beast spit, and having to deal with them shrugging it, sipping fire once, or getting just over 50% and you have to start over and waste more power. Only person who even thinks to use it at all is Nydekion, because he has all the necessary things to have a chance in hell of pulling it off. It should not require someone to nearly trans a skillset not directly related to their guild to have even a slim chance of pulling off their instakill. When I can go into a combat situation thinking "Alright, should I go for a Preserve kill, mindburst or spheres?" instead of "I really hope I can pull off this mindburst kill, or somehow damage kill them." then the skill will be viable and actually work, otherwise, it really doesn't.

That actually went in? I thought it got shot down or something. Maybe we should bug it to ensure that it actually did happen.

Just so you know, Chasm also requires a tainted room environment. And can be stopped by some simple afflictions that any telepath can do.

You can't keep cloud coils on anyone unless they've never encountered them before. The only possible use for them I can think of is preventing rebounding, which is only marginally useful.
