Why is aetherhunting so un-enjoyable for me?
Oh, that's right. I'm either sitting there bored for an hour or sitting there running around killing slivven without the system I haven't been able to install yet because I've been too busy killing slivven.

How exactly is regular bashing more exciting?

If you want to spice up aetherhunting, you can. Just don't automate the whole thing. If you have to press enter every now and again for a bashing alias, and that makes it more exciting, make a turret fire alias. If you want to program in a game of Bejeweled that fires every time you get rid of some gems, feel free to do that too.

Learn to pilot. All you need are simple aliases, if you want to make it uncomplicated.

Talk. Even I find aetherhunting unbearable when SHIPT is silent.

Require a webcam, and if you don't act out the Millenium Falcon vs TIE fighter scene from Star Wars, you get shrubbed.

I can pilot, empath, and turret, but because I don't have a ship/perms to a chair, clarity, or trans aethercraft I don't get to do anything except run around for an hour mashing 'jab slivven' and 'firstaid'.

Astral-bashing is all about hoping you don't spawn too many mobs at once if solo, and hoping that the huge clump of mobs don't all target you at once and insta-gib you if in a group.

Having trans Aethercraft doesn't change that, in my experience, nor do things like a crit rune or a nearly endless supply of kirigami to hand out to gunners.

Also, how is properly Astral bashing any better?

It's pretty easy to get perms to the Yantra. Just let Daraius know, and he'll have you do a demonstration flight or something. I don't have trans aethercraft, and I pilot all the time.

I've astral-bashed plenty, it's just as boring, but you die more often, get insanity, and spend more on cures.

edit: Case in point, even before the onset of awesome aetherbashing, I quit astral in favour of the UV.

Oh the trans aethercraft would more be for turreting. I actually had mentioned my pilotting to him before and didn't want to seem pushy.

It's slightly more exciting, I suppose, but it's not at all worth my time unless I have a group of demis to link with. I'm just not tanky enough and don't kill fast enough to make linking Astral on my own worth it.

First Glomdoring, now Celest...with over half an RL year of nothing but being pummeled, I just don't think I want to log on anymore. That's apart from the actual drama INSIDE where I live. For whatever reason, people think Lilian has an ulterior motive when she's the 'get what you see' types.
