I wasn't around, but I expect this is a result of the "every time you hand in a mob it makes an attack against the opposing org's shield" effect. I watched an attack do 200 (!) motes in damage, and if all twelve mobs they handed in did one of those attacks that's 2400 motes straight off.

There was a bug initially where it was ignoring the shield - we refunded the power drained then, and deducted the appropriate amount from the shield.

We're considering reviewing the hit-every-time-it's-turned-in. While it's one thing in the original orgs (3-5 hits), it's something completely different for the new cities (12).

Likewise, after reviewing the essence costs to raise (with 4 elemental planes in play) we upped the essence cost to-raise across the board for all organizations. This was a few weeks ago. It adds up to about the same net cost, however, within a 1-2 point range.

Well, with all 12 spheres down, we lacked any way to convert essence. So to get the first sphere back up, we had to rely only on what we could get from Air since we couldn't use any other essence. So... no point in telling the entire city "No, don't participate in this event. Everyone camp the Matrix for the next three hours while two people bash Air once every hour."

Also, Saran, we were pretty aware it was a bug but aside from bugging it and waiting for admin to fix it (which they did with the initial shield bug very quickly) we really didn't have any other options except to go on enjoying the game.

Before, it took ~200 essence (I think?) per Supernal/Demon Lord/Avatar/Sphere/Fleshpot to revive one from being dead. Now it costs more than that, since there are more sources of essence in the game.

Actually, I assume by net Eventru means the total number of essence. i.e. it takes net 1,000 essence to bring back all the smobs so for DLs and Supernals it takes 1000/5 essence per mob, but with fleshpots spheres it takes 1000/12 essence per mob.

Correct. It now costs more to raise Spheres, Supernals, Avatars, etc.

The point is that once you've gathered the essence you can get, you can't gather more until there's more to gather. Hence, how fast you can raise them is dependent not on how much you wail and gnash your teeth and give up everything else, but on simple reset times.

You're assuming the other two orgs that just killed the spheres have patted each other on the butt, said good game and qq'd instead of putting up demesnes/discretionaries on their own planes to keep you from walking on and grabbing their portion of elemental essence. That's even if they aren't actively raiding your own elemental plane to take your essence too.

Those "ethereal Serenwilde critters" don't just appear on their own, so it's not like it's particularly easy for Hallifax to harvest them unless someone in Serenwilde has set aside a few hours to help.

So the damage of sphere/fleshpot hits were not made relative to the number of them around? That seems a bit of an oversight.

Though at some point I know many found it impossible to destroy city shields because after you restore smobs they get a grace period. So perhaps you might want to look in to upping the damage of other smobs and only slightly turning down the damage of Halliguch ones. With todays availability of power it is not like power drains are overly harmfull to an org.

I feel sorry for Dracnari who want in on this ice demon fun. I have level 1 racial resistance to cold, and they can deal 2.5k damage in one hit to me.
