Our defence was also woeful.
Still insatiably curious as to what the spheres' attacks look like, if anyone logged them?

I did, but it's a horrendously long log that takes me some time to go through. I'll pm you them when I get the chance.

Edit: the only people that died were the ones we took out with rika's zap squad.

The core of the Emerald Sphere of Chronological Paradigm suddenly glows white hot, making the room
around the sphere appear darker by comparison.
Suddenly a volatile shockwave erupts out of the Emerald Sphere, pummeling you violently to the
ground.
A force field around Nydekion flares, absorbing all damage.
Wuylinfe has been slain by the Emerald Sphere of Chronological Paradigm.
I believe that answers both posts

- it took us more than an hour indeed
- some of the raiders did die

^^
It took a few weeks of planning and prior to, Nydekion was on Continuum for -30- minutes prepping. Not one person caught him in the act. There have been raids on Demon Lords where not a single one has died but yes, Celestia and Nil mobs are stronger being that there are 5 of them. Buffing 12 spheres would be extreme when you consider the time and prep it took.
Ileein2011-03-01 00:22:34
I think the only real issue was that we didn't have any/very many defenders on until the attack was well underway, allowing for that substantial preparation (including shrines, wtf?).
Lendren2011-03-01 00:23:59
I think the "shrines are weapons, not shrines" thing has to be filed on the list of things that are never going to be fixed or even taken seriously.

It was either, deal with your shrines or have you deal with ours. We wanted to be extra careful, since it was the first time we were launching an attack on the gemmies.
Ileein2011-03-01 00:28:29
Like, one person can activate our war shrines.

This is pretty much the case. We went in knowing that it was pretty much a black box on what to expect, so we took the liberty of arming ourselves to the teeth and carefully planning things out before acting. A few things went our way during the 1+ hour raid (so many smobs, ugh) that helped it go relatively smoothly. Strength-wise though, I'd say they're pretty much where they should be and comparable to supernals/DLs in strength when you consider more come to assist. Also, I don't think I've ever been on a cosmic/avatar raid that has ever gone on for that long, heh, even when killing all of them. This one is definitely a marathon.
Razenth2011-03-01 00:31:19
"Soo.... Elostianites, how many people can activate your war shrines? We're totally not planning anything just curious, ya know?"
Ileein2011-03-01 00:32:35
That wasn't a rebuke, it was a lament.

I think this will only be resolved if the Divine lay out the law on on how their shrines are to be used. I know that bunch of Celestians had just been unenemied to Elostian's order not long before their raid. Not speaking for Elostian, but I understand he doesn't really keep order enemies?
That said, getting enemied to divine orders for defending was frustrating. Effective? Yes.

I died, because I got focused + ripple + spheres + being squishy. Most of the people who died on our side died from either Malarious, or being focused. Don't recall anyone getting killed by zap, though will have to go over the log to see.

He has no permanent order enemies, and has pretty specifically said his shrines aren't to be used as weapons. We can use them defensively if there are people around who can use them and enemy, though.

Nothing illegal or mechanically wrong with enemying for shrines, it's just another tool for the win.
It's lame but I've seen worse.
also those spheres don't need buffing considering there are twice as many of them as supernals, three times more than avatars, and defend / heal. Team magnaserefax had more than enough time to defend and the shrine thing will probably never work again.

Have you seen Vortex defense? It's woeful. I'm sure it'll work again.
Nydekion2011-03-01 00:44:32
That's only for the central hub, though. The smobs in Vortex are actually a bit better protected than in the Continuum.
