I think I managed to fix the Halli-shield. It felt oddly odd.

Really, did you get a special message?
Kiradawea2011-03-03 23:06:41
I guess. A message about power pouring into the Over-City, and a shield appearing around the city before it quickly faded away with the implication of it being translucent.
Kiradawea2011-03-04 00:34:11
I predict... I predict... mass rolepoint docking across the board.
Too bad I'm such a terrible oracle.

First aetherflare I've been awake for. And it's 6AM.
The experience has left me bitter and disgusted, as I'm told all previous flares have been pretty much identical for Seren.

It's okay, if we complain enough, they'll introduce things so one or two orgs can't monopolise that part of the game! Worked with villages and domoths, it'll work with aetherflares.

Nothing stopping you guys from shooting down all those one-man ships!

Oh man, I had not thought of that at all. Thanks!

Good ideas never occur at 6am, only after 9am do they start surfacing.

I am fairly sure he was being sarcastic, but I wasn't kidding that it's really easy to take down one man ships during these bombard zergs, which are pretty OP once they get going.
I kind of wish colossi did more ring 'damage' though, to even it out.

To be fair, we had very few people at the start. I myself logged on and was ready to idle and chat on clans and do some clan rp and idle some more, but within the next minute, the flare started. And then people started getting online - people who didn't sleep and was just checking in on things. I was just happy they came online.
Kiradawea2011-03-04 11:29:17
Though you do get a lot of strange ideas before the good ones surface.
Lehki2011-03-04 11:30:32
Fairly easy unless all you have is a pair of 1 manned ships yourself.
Lawliet2011-03-04 11:33:28
Ah, I've had a lousy morning, to round it off I come home to find an embarrasingly crushing defeat at an election (though I did call it and knew it would happen ) and that there was another aetherflare when as far as I can tell there was one Hallifaxian around and she was mindless.
As for the flare, me thinks some sort of system like with domoths could be useful, so cities can't sync to bubbles opposed to their own bubble. Wouldn't be as clear which bubbles would be opposed to each other but still...
Also: MOAR BUBBLES!

But then... if you're a one man ship... and they're a one man ship... they may not have time to get out of the way before you attack.
Ileein2011-03-04 11:51:03
Man, these flares always seem to happen at the worst possible time for us lately. Much like Continuum raids, actually!

How are they going to be paired? They're not as easily coupled as domoths and villages. Flares already happen on three bubbles at once. This is already a good enough softcap.
