Everyone keeps getting all angry when I throw spears at them. I wish I knew why. unsure.gif

EDIT:
Also, lawl at Aeromancers for voting for the inactive champion. I'm thinking family conspiracy.

Don't think they're quite organized enough for a family conspiracy. They weren't able to get out the vote the first time Phoebus ran for GM either. Maybe the inactive champ is preferable to the alternatives.
Malicia2011-03-10 14:45:19
Well that's just silly.
Shiri2011-03-10 14:50:31
Sheesh, there are barely any votes to go around to begin with, some of the voters must be inactive too.

I thought so too.

Inactive is never preferable. We need more Aeromancer security, preferably ones who can actually do something. Our lack of people able to meld with the knowledge of what the hell to do with it is lacking considerably. I blame stagnant leadership. I don't care if the person who wants the position is 3 years old and only knows how to mash his face on his keyboard. Give it to someone who's trying.

Leadership (champion) also comes with city immunity against outsing (needing 3 members), CF and GDF influence increasing dramaticly, the ability to enemy and unenemy to the city and other powers that influence other members of the guild. So no any over none is not preferble as an abusive leader can seriously harm an organisation.

(not saying the candidate that contested, don't even know who it is anyway, is a person that would ruin the guild. Pure theoretical opinion)

I didn't say give it to Toracu. I assume some common sense will be used as per usual.

Monk in the Aeromancers? Does not compute.
Morshoth2011-03-10 16:13:47
That person contesting was me, and I have just as much experience as Ridley did... At least I've been around during raids, during revolts... he didn't even show up the whole time the election was going on and make a post...

Away from the topic but I've just been reading to see all the tweets:

My least favourite context to snub is when I'm JUST about to send a tell that might solve the situation, which happened with Haiden just a few days ago.

As for Champions, yeah, definitely be rid of the person I haven't even seen in who knows how long.

Pet peeve in elections, talking to people and explaining your policies and whatnot, them promising to vote for you and then not.
Unknown2011-03-10 19:43:06
I don't promise to not vote for the candidate whose name may or may not be dissimilar to your own.

It's not a rant or a rage, silly, I just dislike it when people either change their mind without telling you or outright lie, not something that's happened to me in a long time. Just an example.
Unknown2011-03-10 22:45:03
lol@people who think the Skyplumes have enough folks for a family conspiracy. Me and Ridley are the only relatively-active Skyplume Aeromancers and the whole election was going on during my week long break from Lusternia- I didn't even vote or talk to a single person about the election. laugh.gif

I think the thing is, Ridley is like, probably our single most knowledgeable combatant. In the city. He's #1. People are reluctant to give that up, even if he's basically gone- the same thing happened when I ran against Shedrin, who was 100% gone (not even 90% gone like Ridley) and never coming back for GM, and lost. By a pretty large amount, even. Shedrin was awesome as Archmage, and it's hard for people to willingly give up an awesome leader.

Then I ran again a week or so later, other people actually joined in on the election that time, and I ended up winning. cheer.gif

Anyway, just talk to people about how he is basically gone and try to make them see logically why they should prefer a less knowledgeable but active champion over one who isn't around. And that if they really really want him to be Champion, then they can go ahead and try to get him to be Champion again when/if he actually comes back, instead of hurting the guild by keeping him there while he's gone.

People find any reason to use conspiracy as a reason for things. Family just happens to be the easiest thing to point out even if the family is absolutely innocuous or too small to carry out a conspiracy.

Hell, half of our family has politics as their personal kryptonite.
