I find the 'lookatmelookatme, look at what I've done' types to be annoooooying. If anyone asks me for a cityfavour again, I will shriek.
We have some clearly defined city laws about what merits a favour and what does not, I am unsure how it is in New Celest, but it works rather well here since people can just mention the appropriate article if they feel they should be favored.

I understand people can't be around 24/7 to see things, I have been a guild leader before, but when I have been a guild leader who helped to build the guild, doubled the size of the city forging catalogue, forged most every weapon within Hallifax, and poured countless hours into a guild and see it give the guildhonor to someone who is productive because "lolol sorry i didn't notice", I feel envious and underappreciated, and vindicated in so.

I am sorry you feel this way. However, it's a game. It won't be but a couple more real-life weeks at the very most before another guild honor can be given out. I get depressed over games a lot, but it helps to realize that. Go do something outside if it helps. It's really pretty outside where I am!

What is this "outside" you speak of? You mean that scary place on the other side of my front door? If so, no thanks.
Ilyssa2011-03-13 19:21:57
I actually can't. I can't stand up right now because my scoliosis is. ing me over and I can't so much as even walk the dog.
I suppose I'm sad over the fact that I was just finally getting out of depression and that life was taking a turn for the better and then it screws me over.

Problem. Guild leadership should have some idea. :/
If you expect your good deeds to spread around via word of mouth, the guild is too small. Llesvelt needs someone to tell him you're doing things. That includes maybe writing a log about what you've done or sending in a letter or whatever. You can't be pissed because of that.
Also, why do you want a GF at rank 19? I don't understand.

I think I've already said that I've done that was easily noticeable. I used to message the other guild leaders and write on the logs all the time when I was GA but no one ever gave a flying. so I gave up on that practice. I even worked and did things when I only had my phone but it didn't really matter. A guildhonour is much different from a favour.

Well, no offense, but do you think ing out the GM on the forums will get you the guild honour?
To me, the guild honour is for people who go above and beyond the expectations of their work. No questions asked. They don't expect any compensation but do it anyways.

Since this is about guildhonours, I'm going to butt out of this conversation now. I have a very large bitter towards this topic, and I wont be so nice if I stay in it.

I really wasn't out to attack anyone, I had left a passing thought in the thread that has had a lot of factors contribute to it, but I am offended if someone says my work doesn't count because no one ever decides to take notice. As for what the guildhonour is for, yes, that's what I've been doing.
Tweet: HalliMonks can't come out soon enough.
Malicia2011-03-13 20:14:09
Guildhonours should be awarded after a long tenure of selfless service to the guild. Your attitude here makes it no surprise that you don't have one yet.

No ones said your work doesn't count. And if your work was noticed and you didn't get the honour, why sweat over it? In the real world celebrities get awards to stroke their egos. That's what guildhonour is. An ego stroke.

Apparently my work doesn't count, that's largely been what's troubling me and why I'm probably leaving the Sentinels soon.

I think it's kind of funny that you're the one to make a biting remark like that, given our unfriendly past, but I won't take the bait, so if there's anything else you'd like to share, feel free to deride me in private like last time.
Llesvelt2011-03-13 20:27:09
Well, too bad that you feel that way. But do what you wish to do. I hope you will find more enjoyment where your journey next takes you, though.
Ushaara2011-03-13 20:44:56
For my own part, if you weren't GR19 already, you'd have received several favours. Sorry if you're feeling underappreciated or if I didn't express my thanks clearly enough, but favours and a 'Cheers for that' are all I can really offer. (especially when I'm usually in the middle of trying to finish five different things.)
With regards the guild honour, I've always left that in the hands of the GM. But when we're lucky to have even three people together at a time, all busy with our own things, then yes, it's hard for work to be recognised.

Right. Enough bitterness and ranting. Time to consider a subject change before things get even more heated.

I'm a glutton for mental punishment. My break from arena combat consist of me coding, which gets really frustrating at times.
Don't let Eventru hear you say that.
