QUOTE (Phoebus @ Apr 7 2011, 05:33 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
It's not so much demigod itself, it's just the situation of being completely accomplished in my mechanically enforced goals. I'm max CR, GR, and level, and I like having these things (and no, I don't really want to go through any part of Titan again), but it's hard for me to motivate myself to do anything anymore because of it.
Also, what? Just an excuse? If I'm not having fun playing a game, I'm not going to spend my time playing it. There is absolutely no obligation making me log in for hours at a time. I play like an hour a day still. Just because I'm not as active as I was before doesn't mean I am forbidden from commenting on the fact that Hallifax is rather dead lately.

You need to fix your goals then. You're not actually "max" CR or "max" level. For CR there's CR7. For level, there's still VD (technically 100 still) and level 101 (VA/TA).
The whole point of setting goals as low as yours is so that you're never disappointed. I recommend you erase all of your expectations.
That or you can start a What Are Your Lusterian Goals? thread and gather up other people's goals. Then you can live out their dream instead of your own.

Setting goals has never been something I'm very good at. I actually find that playing my alt (who isn't even level 80 yet, but I still don't need to eat or sleep because the refresh from origami charms restores hunger/sleep ) makes me more motivated to spend time on Phoebus. I've sort of separated it into alting is for doing things, and Phoebus is for hanging around and not doing much. Which seems wrong, but I primarily just talk to people/help novices/design on Phoebus, which isn't very actively involving. Not being pretty much omnitras ( you dramatics I'm not spending anymore lessons on you) is kind of weird to get used to sometimes though.

Being a recent demigod struggling to find my place in a lonely cruel world, goal-less with no place to go... -cue sad music-
Here are my reasons why demigod isn't the end of the road:
-I've started focusing on combat (because I've got like.... 150 deaths. Time to rise as a griefer myself)
-coding (I dream in MUSH/mudlet code)
-raising more beasts (after having said I would never have any more!)
-learning to aether pilot (no dragons please)
-get demigod powers (extra trade skill here I come!)
-questing (le gasp, the anti-quest girl who tantrums at the simplest puzzles is questing?!)
-rise in Order ranks (so much love for Terentia, really)
-writing (ew, but I'm a scholar)
-working on Aquamage majors (because the Archmage should be well-rounded in her knowledge)
-improving my guild (I love the Aquas. When Aeral leaves office I want to be able to say I made a difference)
-family (much love to the Llaewells)
-RP (guess it's time to fully develop Aeral)
Demigod hasn't been the end for me, but rather opened up more opportunities. I could look at it one way... Aeral's what, CR6? She's GM of the Aquamancers. Aeral's gone through one marriage and is engaged again. She's grown from a child to being a guild leader. I could stop playing her right now, but there's so much left to do. She is the character that I've taken nearly six years to figure out I would finally play.

Stamping something that's been stamped should change the old stamp to the new one. Now my scroll is going to have so many stamps....meer! Poor little scroll.

Some things need to be stamped by different people. A bill run through the Board of Directors, for instance, should get stamps from the three GL's and the Govna.
Shulamit2011-04-09 01:15:32
Then have it an option? I dun want my scroll to have the Institute stamp on it anymore...that scroll is ancient too, I don't want to just throw it away, meer.

Do stamps transfer when you bookcopy a scroll?
Shulamit2011-04-09 01:18:09
I don't bookcopy often enough to know off hand.
And no. It doesn't. I just copied the scroll.

It's kinda the whole point of a stamp that once it's there it's there for good: it's like a legal signature. I think having it possible to change the stamp would defeat a lot of the purpose.

Clearly, you should help me figure out how to drive Hallifax around, so we can pilot it as our very own death star. I wanna take the city for a cruise around the basin, maybe pose a bit before Drachou.

In this play I've dreamed about writing someday, Hallifax is maneuvered over Gaudiguch to sap their power and suppress their nexus. But all that smoke from the smoldering Eternal Flame floats right up into Hallifax, so nobody's really happy with the situation.
But that's just the setting, not the plot.
Lawliet2011-04-09 04:05:36
Got a ton of ideas floating around in my brain for what to do with Law but can't get past editing a book I did way back because the librarian doesn't like it as it is... Which is fair enough but I really hate re-writing things like that because I worry that if I change the things they want changed I'll add or remove something that stops something else in the book making sense...
Does that make sense?
It's like occasionally if I'm typing out what I'm saying and then re-write a few words I often spout utter gibberish or have to re-write half the sentence just to make the change make sense...
Edit: Also, way too many times have I had a plan to do something that involves specifically one person for whatever reason and then they go innactive. Egads.

I never knew guards would say/emote something when they walk into the room of the person they're chasing. It's kind of awesome.
Turnus2011-04-11 17:02:06
I think the point is its not periodically attacking Gaudiguch, which it probably should be.
Unknown2011-04-11 20:46:14
What I thought was going to be on Sunday was actually on Saturday, and therefore mis-scheduled an entire event. Stupid time conversions

We don't get stomped on, though. And it's hardly fair to stomp on someone else, who's in the same position we used to be in. Yes, I said fair, crazy concept, I know. I try to think about how it would feel on the other side, and if it would piss me off, I try to stay away from doing it.
If only more people could have this viewpoint. ):
EDIT: Unrelated. I hate writing up descriptions for alts, so self-conscious about it and end up agonizing over it for days while trying to work SOMETHING out.

I hate when I get interested in my one-off alt, then realize I have no character concept.

Hearing about all the Gaudi raids only reinforces the many reasons why I don't want to go combatant. It's kind of like deciding to become a mountain climber for the first time after you fell into a crevasse. But whatever, i've been in mag when we were curb stomped. Ill live.
