Not really. The entire skill is pretty much based around temporal paradoxes.
On the other hand, I don't think it's a very good trans skill. Would I prefer something like Lichdom or Trueheal or Drawdown or Nightkiss? Hell yes.

I dunno. I love being Archmage, but things were a lot simpler before it. We're two silly girls who never should have gotten into politics and did.
Welcome to having your soul destroyed by joining org politics. I think the only person who is resistant to it is Xenthos, and I think it may be because he has no soul.

Anyone finds it interesting that the Trans skill for Aeonics is called Paradox?
I always wonder about that.
Ilyssa2010-11-07 14:06:14
I think that's why I was always happy as a GA, for the most part, I tweak scrolls, help novices, and do the occasional talk with my other GL's who don't always agree with me, but I like that part too. If everyone has the exact same opinion something is going wrong or too obvious.
Even that small amount of political debaclery makes me uneasy, but I guess it wasn't too easy in the Paladins with you know who as a fellow guild leader who, due to the Paladin's-policy had just as much say in administration as the administrator.
P.S. happy birthday Shulamit.

Heh, I was actually thinking about Project Paradox.
And compared to Butterfly? I've not gotten it yet, but according to the AB file, it can backfire? A 10 power skill which is random and has a chance of backfiring? Hrm, I can see how often I'm going to use that. Not saying that Paradox sounds good, it sounds eh to me as well.

Being an emotionally sensitive pup turned out to be considerably less interesting than being so no nostalgia here. Daraius is in a good place, I think.
EDIT: Now that I think about it, the job does kind of limit character growth, or at least steer it in a particular direction by forcing me to interact with people in an Official CapacityTM all the time. Oh well. Only has to last as long as it's still fun.

For some reason leadership positions tend to be addicting. Just when you've sworn up and down that you're done, it isn't fun anymore, you just want to relax and play for fun instead of making fun for other people...
An irresistible opportunity presents itself

Sucks being so frickin' competent.
Luckily, I don't have a guild to tempt me, and none of the other city ministries is even remotely interesting to me (or appropriate for Daraius, even). So I think I'm safe.
Until Hallimonks show up.

Hallifaxian city politics aren't that bad. Not nearly as tiring as Celestian city politics.
Ileein2010-11-07 17:53:29
I've always been attracted to in-game politics. In Achaea I started as a newbie aide and eventually ended up (inevitably and through no fault of my own) in charge of the city, then the House, then co-in charge of the Church. Here, I've made a promise to myself never to contest for CL, because that job sucked.
On the whole, though, Hallifax politics are a dream, comparatively.

I prefer to stick with Guild politics, mainly because I hope to fix the guild and somehow get it back to the kind of activity it was at when I was still a nublet. The best way to do such a thing I think would be to bring back Forren. He'd save the day just by being there.

Did they just give Champion to a newbie right out of the portals? Seriously?
(or an alt... but who'd do that?)

Unfortunately, I cannot brighten up your day with some great news about how you saved me from my own decay bombs like I hopefully did with Phoebus' tweet yesterday.

Pfft. You're important. I NEVER get the odd message save a scolding, decay, or YOOOOOOUUUUUU (which is kind of like a scolding, I guess!)
Message other people and start up a message relay. Eventually everyone will get messaged and be sending messages, and everyone will feel slightly more significant.
