The elemental forced movements are erroring (and so are disabled) because of tattoos. It'll be fixed soon enough, and you'll have your wind back!

Any chance of getting the perma-blizzard on the earth plane looked at? That place is confusing enough to get around in when the map isn't disabled and the exits are hidden for everyone who doesn't have trans envirionment. err.gif

Just gonna stop talking to people in Hallifax. They're all huffy and hostile most of the time, does not make for interesting conversations.

Yeah, I have to say that conversation didn't go hostile until you made it so.

Deep breaths! When someone is talking to you they aren't necessarily out for your throat.

I've been saving an influence achievement for it. But with my work schedule and family and friends trying to impose things on me, I don't know when the best time will be to cash it in. sad.gif

Casilu is God. It's not hard to get along with her. Besides, if you don't she'll lynch you in the bathroom.

For some reason, I thought IRE had done the sensible thing and avoided placing the Greathunt during Easter weekend. From what I hear here, they clearly didn't.
Rika2011-04-21 23:54:18
Perfect for those of us with no lives, then. happy.gif
Eventru2011-04-21 23:57:26
Or with the weekend off and no commitments!

All that bashing I was going to do, sigh. I'm never going to beat Veyrzhul at this rate!

Putting the Great Hunt on Easter weekend is bigoted against religious people of certain religions.

Threads don't get closed because they get moved from tweets. They get closed because they end up being flame wars, whether they are moved or created as a new thread in the first place. Having more threads dedicated to making these comments that do make up flame wars will probably cause even more threads to be closed.

FYI, I wasn't so much commenting on the closed threads, but the fact that the encouragement to post most items into a few pinned threads makes it harder to filter out things. It's hard to navigate a single thread and find stuff that interests you. After I came out of retirement, I tried at some point trying to see what happened via the forums and it was very hard to find information about events, etc., since this thread was started. It's become the equivalent of the Twitter Stream, and I think that stream of consciousness discussion is a little more detrimental to a forum environment which thrives on sections and threads.

The only reason I mentioned SEO and that sort of stuff is that I've noticed that threads tend to get lapsed people to pop in (and maybe convince a few of them to come back), and since the thread titles are part of how Google and other search engines find stuff, it could bring people in to find out more things. (That last one is a little tricky though). And I wasn't trying to advocate anything akin to "grey SEO", just pointing out the fewer threads there are, the less likely interesting content could be found off the forum.

But who knows, this may be how the culture is adapting. In five years the forum might disappear and we'll all be part of a Facebook group or stream.

And I'm not really advocating removing tweets, but there probably should be more self-control. (And the reason I've brought it up here is because the subject started here).

PS--Aren't we supposed to be getting new forum software?

It warms my heart that after having gone in between "I Whip My Hair Back and Forth" to "Friday" for being stuck in my head, I can come here and immediately get both stuck back in there. sad.gif
