It is annoying when it does, but at least they don't remember you anymore and start responding if they walk in while you're influencing a new monk (Tosha in this example).

I think it just has to do with a mob not recognising that it is being influenced when its reset time tics, because this only seems to occur with ones that wander around.

So, I decided to give the Crumkindivia quest a try. I run out of peeps to kill and fly back home. I kid you not, the second I stepped off the ship, the aetherflare started. If I had decided to wait at the bubble for the peeps to respawn, I would have been on Crumkindivia when it happened, with the ship that has all the beacons and colossus parts. fml

Still had a whole lot of fun though.

Deleting commentary about flagrant abuse of an utterly broken skill that, despite years of vehement requests and near-universal acknowledgement of the issue, has not been fixed... yes, this is a great idea to keep PR up. Moderators, I applaud you.
