I spent a great deal of time last night putting my new aliases and such for cantors in to mudlet last night. I carefully saved them, and I log on today, and they're gone! So much for my fun day off.
Vadi2011-06-29 20:32:12
I'm not sure how that is possible, but do try selecting a different profile date when connecting (or maybe, make sure you select the one that was saved at the time).
Unknown2011-06-29 20:42:14
Tried, it just doesn't seem to be there at all.

While I'm certain I saved everything, and the little bit I wrote the session before that is there, the most logical conclusion is human error. I didn't crash and I saved and closed the same way I do every time. But I suppose it would be my luck the one time "stuff happens" is the time I spent hours adding aliases and such. At least I hadn't done triggers or highlighting yet.

Circumstances beyond my control are making my character very unhappy. My natural instinct is to just stop logging in, but I really don't want to abandon Tulemrah. Decisions, decisions. sad.gif

Org hop.

Trust Dai, I'm an expert and I say this is the correct answer.

Trust Dai, I'm an expert and I say this is the correct answer if you want to live a lonely and unfulfilling life, like I do.

Casilu2011-06-30 01:27:02
Hey, that isn't because of the org-hopping. That is because of my crushing lack of self-confidence and my inability to work on things no matter how much I want to do them.
Xenthos2011-06-30 01:28:28
So of course Arel goes right for the kill.

Tsk, tsk!
Diamondais2011-06-30 01:31:21
Hey, I org hop and I'm not lonely!

I'd love to rub out my extra curios for coins, but I can't do that because I'd feel bad if somebody needed a curio piece.

So few igasho parts to go around... sad.gif

You know what you have all the parts to make? A grandchild for me.

I still need a partner for that. I can't do it alone, good thing I've been engaged to someone awesome for 771 months. Maybe one day something will come of it!

So whenever I try to load Nexus at the nexusnew website this morning, I get something complaining about being unable to verify its digital signature, and then my mouse freezes up so I can move it around and alt tab between things (which I was forced to do to close java so I could get on with things) but not click on things. This is making me leery of trying to actually play. Any ideas what the problem is?

The game has become self-aware and wants you to move to a better client.

First time I've ever been around for an aetherflare, but so far our coordination mostly consists of people saying single words and then leaving. It took fifteen minutes just to get an answer to what bubble I am supposedly going to. I really doubt I could muster up caring even if we had things like leadership, communication, and organization, but seriously, like this?

Why don't you spend your time trying to help them become more organized rather than running straight to the forums and complaining

Communication in flares can be difficult because only some people can be heard in full (planarbonded + launched) and can hear everyone with enough planar, and so might be having two or more conversations, trying to coordinate ships or not realising that people don't understand what they're saying because they aren't hearing the responses. And by the point you ARE planarbonded and launched, you can't pick other people up without interrupting bombard.

Actually it was before people even left that no one would even say things like where they were going, or what people needed to do. It's the more pervasive part where people want others to know what needs doing or how things are done, but are not willing to teach it, explain it, or write it down. Turned out not to matter, as they didn't need me. However, doesn't that make this the ideal time to try to prepare for the next one? I can't seem to get this through to people though.
