Assuming you're up to master in Hexes, vapors will give you a blackout effect and masochism will help with your damage kill. Pox might help you some if it sticks (it does damage and drains some mana, which means they'll be sipping it instead of health if they're not catching up with sparkleberry/scroll). The only hex worth whammying for you would probably be Recklessness, so they may not catch that they're losing hp/mana, though most systems will. Still, on newer combatants its possible that could swing it to your favour. Be aware that it takes time to both draw and throw the hex, though it's pretty quick, you'll still be racing against their cure balances if you're drawing every time you throw.
EDT: master in hexes, not hexes in master.

ORDER 12345 ATTACK
ORDER 12345 PASSIVE
ORDER 12345 FOLLOW (me|person)
There's probably more fancy Illuminati-specific commands out there.

I use FLESHCALL RETURN to make them follow me again.

Can you use 2 mutations with a pathway? for instance transformation gives permanent fangs could one use fleshfo4m scales?
Furien2010-11-01 13:28:36
Yes.
The Fangs transformation sucks, so don't go Transformation pathway.
These are all questions best left for, you know, your guild, in-game, except half of them probably can't tell left from right when it comes to their skills anymore, which is I suppose a consequence of living in a city ruled by Keeno McFluffin the Chaos Panda.
(I make Caerulo an exception because he's a pretty cool guy.)

Whispers, Gnosis or Psychedelia are the typical paths. Mainly Gnosis.
And you can't short of a Monocle and gauging it as you go.
Unknown2010-11-01 14:47:08
Whispers is useless for combat, but awesome for influencing.
Transformation like Furien mentioned is not useful. We have no health/mana/ego instant kills, so useless.
Manipulation I suppose is feasible if you're fighting Glamours Bards for stacking with possible blindness protection? You'd be going for silver eyes anyway.
But it still seems like the best pathways are either Gnosis or Psychedelic, since you'd want both stable and psychedelic auras. I suppose which to go for depends on whether electrical damage or magic damage is better against your target then.
Illuminati (and I guess Gaudiguch as a whole), doesn't really have many combatants. We don't get raided (except for occasional ones by Incabulous. you for the rare raids.), we don't raid. The competent combatants we have aren't very active (which I don't blame them, considering the state Gaudiguch is in). Heck, -I'm- the head of the combat path in my guild.
But still, poke Caerulo in-game (he's the Prelate of Transformation), join the Transformation pathway, and talk to the Champion. Even if I know nuts about combat, I can help you pester those who at least knows more than me.
(Awwww, Furien)

How to Not Suck as an Illuminati
(this really isn't hard)
1. Set up your transformations:
Slime Nose
Skin DMP of your choice
Silver Eyes if you plan to make use of hypnotism, else go for darkened eyes
The rest really is unimportant
Everyone entity sans ribbachi (sludgeworm, spix, hekoskeri, morrible)
If you want an early hekoskeri hit, see 2B. Else, 2A.
2A. Engage target. ORDER ENTOURAGE KILL (target), enemy them as well. SHIFT FLUX, CHANT CARCER. If Tarot, FLING FALL AT GROUND.
2B. Hypnotize target, force tumble or movement out of room until you see the Hekoskeri slap them. Set up flux/carcer/etc if desired. While screwing up their balance, considering using Lust tarot on them if they having effects hitting you that require enemying/rejecting, because you're the offbalance queens of the game.
3. SHIFT GREYWHISPERS (target), SHIFT BADLUCK (target)
4. FLESHFORM SLIME (target). Do this repeatedly. Maintain it throughout, because we know from experience that 0p ectoplasm, even if single target, is retarded no matter what Thoros might tell you. If they keep cleansing, move to step 5B. If not, move to 5A. If Hexes, 5C. If going for Soulless, 5D.
5A. Build insanity however possible - morribles do it passively, you can claw or hex or cast aeon rays/cards to help things along, or revelations 1-3 times.
5B. Pit a Madfly on them, watch as insanity skyrockets. After 2 or 3 madfly hits (you can revelations to help this along), truename.
5C. Doublewhammy anorexia/stupidity, impatience/x and another x/x set of hexes of choice. Jinx. Cosmicfire/crush to death while keeping up mental afflictions, else go for Illuminate (6/7).
5D. Rub Soulless card repeatedly. Check to make sure Flux/Rubble/Carcer is all up. Victim virtually cannot simply walk out of the room between mucous/rubble/carcer/flux/hekoskeri/badluck/ectoplasm, so they'll be forced to tumble. If they tumble and hekoskeri venom hasn't faded, walk out of the room ahead of them and Soulless. Easy win. (Hell, since almost nothing stops Soulless you can just drop it from within the kill room itself.)
6. Truename. Watch the victim: if you see them eating pennyroyal and you didn't load them up with afflictions earlier, they're curing. If they are not, truename 1 or 2 more times because truename is broken and gives more insanity than revelations.
7. Illuminate.
8. Provoke forum thread/rage/Geb/Celina/Incabulos/person of your choice.
If for some reason this flowchart doesn't work, you're probably not spamming ectoplasm or badluck or greywhispers enough.
To gauge insanity as you go:
It takes ~7 uses of Revelations to make someone massively insane. A similar amount of pennyroyal/focus mind to cure it, probably more.
Morrible insanity typically takes 2 cures to be removed fully.
You can only truename at the 3rd level of insanity (I think, it's been awhile). Truename does h/m/e damage + blackout + insanity, meaning it basically bones everything in relations to curing. Two more truenames, if not cured fast enough, push the target to massive insanity and lets them be instakilled.

Flinging hexes is fairly fast, about 2s equilibrium. You shouldn't have to redraw mid combat, it's a burst offense thing.
Psychedelic aura can afflict with insanity, various mental afflictions (stupidity, hallucinations, dementia) or make someone high or drunk.
Ikkan2010-11-02 02:40:51
Hm, unless I totally didn't notice it, I don't think Truename causes insanity.
Or was that added in..?
