Phoebus, did you read about atom smashers? Great for taking care of unwanted migrants.

I like this game, but there's some aspects about it that I don't like so much, so whenever I play I usually mod the raws so attributes don't rust and skills rust slower ( I don't even know if that tag works properly ) and make robes not wear out. Also I make sure my dwarves can't breed.

I got it to work. Now to figure this thing out.

Oh, there's medical supplies now? Back when I played, no one ever got better, they just learned to live with their injuries or eventually died of thirst. And that blood doesn't go away either, unless he changed that too.

Blood still doesn't go away, and in fact can be duplicated by water flows in some circumstances.

It was 5am! I wasn't thinking! sad.gif

...on a similar note, how long do dwarves with half their bodies broken tend to stay unconscious in bed for? suspicious.gif

EDIT: He died! A bunch of friggin monkeys stole all my medical supplies. While mourning the loss of my second most useful dwarf, 23 migrants rolled into town.

censor.gif Why must this game mock me so.

No no, Phoebus, losing is -fun-

I am well aware of the fun potential that losing has! Example: NetHack is one of my most favoritest games ever, forever.

Magma is bad. sad.gif
Esano2010-11-08 09:32:28
Magma can be very, very fun. In all senses of the word.
Llesvelt2010-11-08 10:18:09
Magma is a blessing from Armok!
Razenth2010-11-09 04:56:05
This game made me want to make a magma defense system for Gaudiguch.

Sounds like much fun was had.

I built my Fortress high in the mountains, near a lake. So now I have a floodgate handy near the only overt entry to my Fortress. When the Goblins come, they will be flooded away by the power of water! MUAHAHAHA!!!

Next, I need to do the same, but with Magma!

Part of me wants to start a Lusternia succession game but I'm pretty bad at Dwarf Fortress, I might loose the fort in the first year. Still, we could rival boatmurdered in our craziness. Imagine a dwarf Hallifax.

My mind just assumed the most ingratiating posture of surrender imaginable.

I've actually tried to build such a thing. It's harder than you'd think.

Unknown2010-11-10 17:25:39
Yeah, I tried to think of how to do it. I'm thinking something with towers and bridges though it wouldn't be very Hallifaxy.

Well, first of all, it wasn't Hallifax, per se that I was designing, but my original plan was to have that one entrance tower with a path wide enough for caravans, then the double drawbridge at the top, the other end at which would begin the sky fortress proper. From there, you'd build up from the original 11x11 base square to the rest of the fortress. I got as far as 3 levels up before I had to turn my attention to my base camp on the ground which was getting harassed by goblins.

Not a styleset. Stonesense, third party 3D visualizer program.
