I'm interested, but I'll probably kill off all our dwarves. laugh.gif
Furien2010-11-18 10:16:35
It's been awhile, but I don't think anything changed since I last played the game, so I might be up for it.
Fain2010-11-18 11:38:59
I'd be up for that.

But I can't get my head around the newest version of DF, so pls not that.
Unknown2010-11-18 12:00:46
I would just ruin everything, so I think I'll pass. sad.gif
Lehki2010-11-18 15:41:47
I would give it a try. =O
Neos2010-11-18 17:46:48
I'd be up for it in the future after I get better. As of now I'm just floundering around with my fortress and really have no idea what I'm doing. No one has died yet, but my mason will since he went insane.
Razenth2010-11-19 03:48:00
I would def be, but I'd have to start. I can't handle more than 7 dwarves sad.gif Or you'll all come back to a game with a perfectly running fortress and a suspiciously long list of dead dwarves with no bodies.

It'd be DF2010, unless everyone here is mystically familiar with the older versions.

As long as you thoroughly document all of their deaths, I see nothing wrong with that. 8D

7 dwarves is too few. I like to have around 20. That's enough to get everything done without being overwhelming.
Unknown2010-11-19 04:50:39
I'd be up for it though I make no promises of my skills. Though it looks like everyone plans on embarrassing themselves.
Razenth2010-11-19 05:40:15
I just can't handle the micro of so many dwarves. I get too attached to the little buggers sad.gif What USUALLY happens is that the starting seven get all super trained up and focused onto certain industries and the migrants get used for hauling duty for a season before getting... disposed of. >.>
Lilia2010-11-19 07:40:45
You need to get one of those dwarf managers. You can group dwarves by whatever title you want to give them, and turn jobs on and off for the whole group, and see how many of each job you've got. I would turn everything off but hauling for newcomers and then assign them to jobs I needed.

I just name everyone "Comrade" and enable all tasks.

Making them all sleep and eat in the same grand dormitories/messhalls.

My Mayor/Bookkeeper/Broker (nearly always the same) I then call "Secretary"

>_>

I remember my last fortress. I followed wiki suggestions and it went well until I decided I could divert a river to give my dwarves a drinking well. Forgot about z-level until I got notices about drownings and realised I'd flooded half my fort and killed off the river. Then had trouble trying to build a door to keep out invading people while waist-deep in a herd of rampaging and ever-multiplying cats that were unhappily navigating through a miasma-filled fort. Was so disastrous it was fun~ (It may have something to do with all the immigrant dwarves that kept coming and me losing track of who did what D:)

Dwarf Therapist is lovely for that, Raeri.

Let's start a list or a new thread for the succession game, I really wanna do that. =O
Unknown2010-11-20 18:49:51
Add me to the list for the succession game.
Esano2010-11-21 02:52:43
I've mostly worked out the succession game, and am working through the first year now so I have something to post up.
The embark site is here:

Cold, savage, and few trees. Hope there's some coal there. ):
Esano2010-11-21 03:16:51
Plenty. And a volcano, so you don't need to use it outside of steelmaking.
