So, owing to the fact that we, as human beings; gamers; whatever you wish to be called, have a rather fond urgency of stroking ones e-peen with regards all matters in asserting our dominance over fellow geeks, I have created this thread as an 'outlet' if you will.
Let's compare!
The rules are simple. You take a screenshot of your entire desktop. (No editing is allowed whatsoever.) It must be 'as is' okay?
You must footnote with your OS (and version) and any effects/apps running that have a -direct- correlation to your desktop environment.
All images must be in either png or jpg format, preferably. (Most certainly no bmp's!)
Whilst unlikely, it would be nice if we could keep totally on topic here, although the obligatory, "How did you do that?" or "What app is that?" will be permissable.
For the sake of those unfortunate enough, I would ask that all posted images be kept to a maximum of 1280x1024.
Without further ado, I will begin with my own.

This is Gentoo GNU/Linux (2.6.37-rc1) on i686. The desktop is LXDE and my handy little stats app is called conky.

Nobody going to bite?
These kind of threads tend to be rather popular! What is happening here?

Haha.
Which part did not make sense?
It is basically just us sharing a screenshot of our desktop, heh.

Mine was an old 8088 as my first and where I found my love for text games. Zork! I eventually graduated to a Windows 3.1 pc after a few years though.

Atari 800 XL - "The Golden Baton"
In fact, never mind, check this out.
It was playing games like that way back, that prompted me to learn BASIC. (Accompanied with the obligatory progression.) Pretty sure some of my work from my teenage years will still be floating around somewhere. Should dig it out sometime, I guess.
