Well damn, I thought it was a Othero/Vendetta team. Well, at least I was half-right.

Yeah. It was just me, but my role was damn powerful. It I was smart and paying full attention to the game the whole time, I probably could have slid by without raising any suspicion, so I mostly got by on luck.

I'm not sure if Gleip will post everyone's actions, so I'll say what I did.

Night 0, I went ahead and ate Ssaliss, which seemed to be a lucky choice. I have a feeling if he checked my trash later he'd have found human bones, then I'd be really stuck, but it's hard to tell with how Gleip had the game set up.

Then I figured lurking would be good to try to get several people to come visit in on the next night, so I used WAIT on Night 1, but that didn't quite work out how I had planned.

Then I just ate Rika on Night 2 and crossed my fingers.

Yeah, you were the one who killed me, I went to "fix" your car.

And to think I was going to change my vote to you!

That's what I was afraid of!

I'm just kinda bummed that my diagnosis of you showed absolutely nothing. Why in the world was my power so darn useless?

Well, in a way, it did. It showed that I had been well fed and very healthy! Don't you think it was also just a little bit suspicious that I showed no signs of stress, either?

If it wasn't clear, I had a blast imagining myself as a midnight salesperson. I mean, there's a killer around town, but I, the ever money-grabbing, penny-pinching Mitchell Balthazar, goes around selling books to people who just might be the very killer.

Also, I -ed at the diagnosis Phoebus had for me. On hindsight, I guess that was the point where I decided Phoebus wasn't lying about her power, and hence why I focused on Vendetta and Othero.

One more point that tilted me towards Vedetta being scum was that everyone else seemed to have a 'flaw' of some sort, but Vendetta's diagnosis was perfect. If her diagnosis had been 'physically perfect' instead of 'physically healthy', I would have jumped on that, but the rest weren't too keen on using flavour as a reason to lynch. Which, I agreed with, and hence I didn't post it out loud.

@Vendetta: The point that said 'confirmed scum' for me was when you basically went 'Oh, hrm' when I quoted Othero's post about his ability. I just couldn't seem to convince people to vote for you instead.

Not really. Honestly, the results I'd get for diagnoses were too varied to get anything of value from. Someone's stressed and smokes. Someone has a cold and tends to get their nose broken or foot crushed. Someone else is healthy. Ok? People can be healthy. It's not terribly suspicious for someone not to be sick.

I think my greatest luck in this game is that no one found this post again, or gave it too much thought when it was first brought up. Following the night where Diamondais visited me while I was waiting to eat people at home...



Seriously, I was sweating bullets when I first read that.

Lucky for you, there was zero indication that these murders involved eating.

All in all, though, well played by Vendetta, and... Decently played, by the rest of us.

I am absolutely curious now what kind of books I would have sold to Vendetta. Twilight series? Eat Pray Love?

My bets are on Wii or Kinect for video games. No opposable thumbs needed.

If I recall correctly, the reason why we didn't jump on that was because Diamondais' death reveal mentioned something about eating kids as well, so it sounded to me like 'eating' somebody was some sort of local slang for beating up or something.

Yeah. So basically more dumb luck on my part that diamondais' role reveal helped a bit like that.

Yeah. The point of the investigations were to make them as worthless as possible on their own, but by combining small details from the various investigations, you were supposed to figure out that you were dealing with a werewolf. Ssaliss would find bones (but being a kid, he'd theorize that it was DINOSAUR BONES or something. The responses there would be really overblown with plenty of conspiracy theories), Phoebus finds someone perfectly healthy, Romertien would find a lot of WoD Werewolf books, Caerulo would sell lots of wolf-themed books, and Diamondais would find a motorcycle.

The reason for Othero's confusion around Phoebus and such was that... well, Phoebus ignored him the first night. No, don't ask me why Phoebus didn't ignore him on the third night. Game mechanics was a 50% chance of those being at home answering his pestering, except Vendetta who would always answer.

Investigation mafia:

Cop: You are deputy Franz Himmelmann, and responsible for keeping order in this little hamlet. At night, you can do a background check on someone to discover if they have done anything criminal in their past. You need cause though, so you can only investigate someone who has a vote on someone at the end of the day. Syntax is INVESTIGATE person. (Rika)

Doctor: You are doctor Olaf Carsigot. This village is quite small, making you the only doctor available for the locals. You don't even have your own hospital, but you are responsible for handing out medication. This also means that you know the general physical health of folks. During the day, you can post in the thread «DIAGNOSE person» and you'll be told of their general state. (Phoebus)

Gas station worker: You are Gunnar Gullbrandsdal. A spry young guy who works night shifts at the only gas station in the village. It is boring work, but it pays well. You don't pay much attention to the names of those who shop at you, but you do pay attention to what they buy. At dawn, you'll get an inventory list of what you sold the previous night. (Tekora)

Game shop owner: Life is soooo dull for Peter Patrick. You own the only game shop in the town, but people so rarely shop at you. You're very cautious about everything though. Got all the transactions all kept in your little blue book you do. So at night, you can look through the book and discover who has bought which games. Syntax is GAMECHECK person. (Romertien)

Detective: Shouldn't you be in school? You're little Rick Bluebell, perhaps the only kid in town. You are such a fan of Sherlock Holmes that you want to be a detective when you grow up. You want it so much, you spend way too much time ruffling through the trash of others. At night, you can breach the privacy of someone's home and get a random object from their trash. Syntax is TRASHCHECK person. (Ssaliss)

Bookstore owner: Mitchell Balthazar is your name, and books is your... game. You are a very, very, VERY annoying salesperson. Really, people only buy from you to shut you up. But a sale is a sale. At night, you may pester someone into buying a book from you by sending me the syntax SELL BOOK TO person. (Caerulo)

Telemarketer: Barry Penny is what your name is, and annoying people is what you do. You will know who stays at home during night, and who isn't by constantly bugging people with your calling. Actually, they might just ignore you, but if they do answer then they must be home... unless they have a cellphone. Do you know their cellphone number? (Othero)

Biker: You are Alex Flepex. Brutish, thuggish troublemaker in the past, but you've grown out of trashing cars and eating kids. Now you work as a mechanic and fix up the cars of the rest of the folks in the city. At night, you can investigate one of the people who you voted on, since you may have «accidentally» damaged their car. Just send me the message «REPAIR person» and you'll get right on it. Werewolf: You're Felix Fentah. Sometimes. But you're also a big monster of a werewolf, and you've denied the wolf long enough. Hey, when you're first eating, why not go all out. This village should tide you over for a while. Time to go out there and eat everyone. At night, you can either PM me «EAT person» to swallow him whole, or you can PM me «WAIT» to wait at home and nom everyone who targets you that night. You win when there is only two or less townies remaining. (Vendetta)
