I spent all of my childhood in Florida, from 5 on up till a little bit after high school. Yeah. My sympathy for whoever has to live there.
It is, if you do it right, quite a nice place to visit though. And Disney (which I lived just down the road from) is really fun if you have relatives who can get you in for free, and you are able to take it in the proper spirit. I can't imagine enjoying it if I was spending 80$/person or whatever it is, though.
For the purposes of this thread I'm in upstate NY and/or central CT. I tried to do a meetup with Revan and some others but it kind of fell through...

I am in Pensacola but make regular trips to Tampa, Orlando, and Miami.

Harkux is so close to me that if I wanted to I could track her down and show up at her house unannounced like a creepy e-stalker in under an hour.
